Codename: Inertia

Real Name: Thaddeus (Thad) Thawne

Age: Mentally he’s a little over a century old; physically he looks about 14 or 15. His real age is unknown.

Height: “5’2”

Weight: 107 lbs

Powers:
Super-Speed: He can run faster than the speed of light, and is surrounded by an invisible aura to protect him from the more deadly aspects of simple physics, like friction.
Molecular Vibration: He's able to control his body on a molecular level, allowing him to vibrate his molecules so he can pass through solid objects. He can also control the molecules of anything he touches, making them pass through things as long as he touches it, or even make the objects molecules vibrate on two opposing speeds and cause it to blow up. But if done wrong, this is something that could easily end in disaster for him, and everyone around him.
Heightened metabolism: He can heal very quickly, but not always accurately. And most, but not all, poisons and illnesses get burned up in his system before they have much effect. Unfortunately it also means he has to eat allot, and often, to keep himself from burning out. Which is not very conducive with his currant “life style”.

Strengths: Intelligence, planning, hacking, repairing, building machines/computers, speed and coordination.

Weaknesses: He has very little firsthand knowledge of true human nature, and some things that would be common knowledge to most can confuse or fluster him. Much to his displeasure he's very bad at controlling any emotion he's not use to, exceptionally under stress. He's very touchy about things having to do with Bart, Helen, Max, his "family", or the subject of clones, and heavily dislike’s mirrors. He also tends to get angry or upset if someone calls him Thaddeus, he likes being called Thad because that’s what Max called him.
Unbeknownst to him he has a chip implanted in his brain that was meant to program the memories of previous clones in with his own (as a way of making the clones think they were the only one, and not having to completely retrain a new one if one died); occasionally he will remember things that were only meant to be repressed memories (memories that were left as a way of controlling the clones without their knowledge, to condition them to not do certain things by linking the act with a “harsh punishment” they can never quite remember). Often during his sleep he will have “nightmares” were he remembers dying, usually after finding something, or doing something, he wasn’t supposed to. But he’s always suffered from night terrors and assumed these memories were nothing more than that (at least until recently, after “Tad” appeared he’s begun to wonder more in to it). This chip was also meant to keep the clone’s inline in another way. It’s wired to take control over the clone’s molecules vibration patterns. It can turn the power on and off, or set it off in a way that can severely damage or kill them. It was controlled by using specific frequencies and can still be set off. Removal of the chip would be extremely detrimental to his health.

History: Thad was made for the sole purpose of revenge. A several centuries old feud, consumed generations of his 'family'. Their very reason for living seemed to eventually be for nothing more than being better then the Allen family, and without thinking or caring about the consequences, they made a series of clones using Bart Allen’s DNA, with that literally, as their only reason for living. They slowed down the clone’s growth rate, taking an entire century to raise them to be perfect.
To make them faster, stronger, and smarter, than the boy who would become the "bane of their existence".
But the clones were used not only for revenge, but to also push the limits of the speed-force, to learn any weakness’s a speedster might have. They were mass produces and generally seen as deposable. Anytime one died, the collective (and altered) memories of the previous clones would be downloaded in to a new body.

The clones grew up knowing only what they were told to think and believe, lies of their fore fathers being the poor abused underdogs, and the Allen's being an evil manipulative force forever keeping them under their boot.
They never knew of real connections, bonds or affection, kept forever separated from each other and outside influences. All they were given was the cold company of the personality's of dead "relatives" programmed in to a computer made to care for them. The closest thing they were given to a friend was an AI computer program named Craydl, who served as companion and care taker. They taught them to think of bonds as a weakness, and that all others told lies. The only human contact they were given growing up were that of the doctors who tended to them and his "Father", who was far from what anyone could call pleasant company.

When they felt one was ready, he was sent in to the past to find the boy he had been cloned from, with the intent to take his place, and to eventually kill him and everyone close to him.
Though the clones had only ever been called by the code name ‘Inertia’, this one decided to take on the name of his creator, as a way of signifying himself as the extension of President Thawn’s

Thaddeus trapped Bart in a virtual reality, and took his place for over a month.
At first he hated it, the way they all acted, his family and friends, their closeness and overabundance of useless feelings and annoying gesture.
It was all very agitating.
But slowly the unexpected happened, it grew on him, and he liked it. He liked them. The pride they showed, the love, warmth, and appreciation they gave, how they liked him even when he started acting just like himself instead of Bart, the way they listened and accepted his opinions, and the lengths they would go to, just to show that they cared. It was something he had never experienced, and he wanted to keep it.
There was a time that he nearly forgot completely about Bart, that this wasn't really his life to keep.

And then it all came crashing down. He remembered in a single instance, and realized, this wasn't his. The feeling they had and gave, weren't for him, never had been, and never would be. They didn't even know he existed. It was all for the boy he hated so much. It was for Bart.
And in that instant he wanted nothing more than to tear it all apart.

He started with Bart's mentor and father figure, Max Mercury, showing him who he really was. And when he did, he found himself excepted, despite who he was and what he had done.
Max saw a confused child, not an enemy, and he offered him a place in their home to really be part of the family.
And Thad almost took it.
But if he did that he would be betraying everything he knew, joining, no worse, living under the person he was suppose to kill, failing his family, failing his very existence, and they weren't just going to let him get rid of Bart.
No. He would have to kill them all.

Then low and behold Bart himself showed up in the nick of time, as heroes often do, and Thad's attentions turned to him. He tried to kill them both, intending to use the speed force (the thing that gives them there power) it's self as his weapon to tear Max apart as he beat Bart in to a bloody pulp. But no matter how badly Bart was hurt, no matter what Thad did to him, he kept reaching for Max, determined to save him even if it killed him.

No matter how he wrapped his head around it, Thad couldn't understand this concept. What could Bart possibly gain from getting himself killed?
He momentarily lost himself to curiosity, and had to ask. "What IS this?"
His response was this "You...You really don't get it...do you? I...I love him...I'd die for him. Or with him. That's what you do...How you feel when you love someone. Haven't you ever felt that way about someone? Hasn't any one ever felt that way about you?"

And wasn't that a revolution. He watched the two, taking it all in, and then in an almost dream like daze moved away from them. Letting them save each other.
No. He had definitely never had that.
He had no one. No one to save him. To even care if he lived or died. Nothing. Hardly even a meaning.
Only a bunch of biter dead men who had made him to mindlessly fight there "war", condemning him to an empty, meaningless, existence.
The more he stood there and watch the two, the more that he thought about how he would never have that for himself, the angrier he got.
Not at Bart or his family, but at his creator's.
They had lied to him. He was nothing more than there tool, and now he was a useless one.

He ran, not hearing Bart calling out to him, not caring if they followed after him, not really caring about much of anything.
He went back to his lab, his "home away from home", and tore it apart till, the computers stopped talking and there was nothing left.

It didn't help.

With nowhere to go, a desire to be as far away from his old lab as he can get, and no way to get back to his future, he is living on the streets, and occasionally in shelters or the houses of people who have gone away for a stretch of time. He dose petty crime to get by. Pick pocketing, shoplifting food and cloths.
He knows better than to grab attention by doing something big, and he never stays in one place for very long.
He wants to find some purpose, some reason for being, and is doing a pretty lousy job of finding it.

Sample RP:

"Kssst-et up and do it again, Inertia! Kssst"

The com hissed to life over head as the boy lay on the cold linoleum, chest heaving as he tried desperately to catch his breath. Every inhale felt like sand sliding down in to his lungs, and every exhale brought with it a lode of saliva and a bitter metallic taste, but at the com's words he took one more thick gulp of air and quickly moved to do as he was instructed. He managed to push himself up on to all fours but as he tried to stand up, sore and tired mussels gave in despite however hard he tried, landing him back in to a heap on the floor.

He didn't try for it again, despite the com's insistence that he get up. It just wasn't going to happen. Instead he lay glaring at his own blurry reflection in the metal floor, hands curling in to tight fists, as he continued with the fight to regulate his breathing.

He listened to the muddled bickering of the doctors and Mr. Thawne up in the observation room over head before

Thawne came back on the com, consenting to the doctors insisted orders.

He would have ten minutes to gather himself before they would continue with the exercise.

Anger bubbled in his stomach and he clenched his fists tighter.

He shouldn't need ten minutes, he shouldn't have failed. Why couldn't he get this right?! They had done this scenario twenty times over the last week and still he couldn't beat it!

He looked up at the computer generated image of his advisory. That hated boy who looked so much like himself.

It stood over him triumphantly, pulling mocking faces at him, and Inertia's anger surged. He let out a low, harsh growl that did his sore throat no good, and took a wild swipe at the annoyance, then glowered at it from the floor as it easily dance out of his reach, unharmed and unfazed. He tried to make it explode using only the power of his mind, as it childishly blew a raspberry in his direction and thumbed its nose at him, but alas, he did not have such a power.

Instead he tried to rack his brain for where he had went wrong, what mistakes he had made and how they had affected the battle, all the while watching the computer generated Bart Allen, twitter about the room aimlessly, as if he was in the middle of some kind of drug induced hallucination.

Inertia's jaw clenched and his train of thought broke off back on to a more chaotic road. How. The Hell. Could he keep letting himself be beat by this thing?! And if he couldn't beat the computer at such a low level how could he ever be expected to win against the real thing!?

((You'd think, but no >.< I like my eyes to be unlike any of the others of people on my FL, which is why I kept the Dappy eyes so long. I may go back to those, but I dunno. The Oisin eyes are soo nice, but soooo expensive. I've only got like, 3.5 mil readily available, and Oisins don't go for under 5.))

Bart smiled at the genuine effort Thad seemed to be putting into this whole thing. It was sweet. "C`mon Thad," he started, setting his hands on his hip to show he would be good and refrain from touching as much (even though he really just wanted to hug his clone and smoosh his face and make him smile) "I don't wanna fix you, you don't need to be fixed. We can just take it slow and you can learn to adapt to the annoyance that is me!" Bart pressed his hands to his cheeks and grinned an open-mouthed grin for a few seconds, just to make a spectacle of himself before chuckling and pocketing his hands once more.

"But, seriously... Thank you, Thad. I really appreciate that you're going to try at the friends deal. So I'll make the effort in return and stop touching you so much." Bart paused and thought for a second but, being Bart, in that second a whole 200-page novel sped through his mind and he added on, "Unless you ask or I think you really, really, really, really, really," He paused to take a breath. "Really, really need it." He grinned once more, pleased with himself for he thought he was being entirely reasonable. "Also, don't knock the anime, that stuff is so drama-licious! Do you like that word? I picked it up from some magazine, I'm trying to make everyone say it." All seriousness gone, Bart was rambling on about the unimportant garbage that always tended to annoy whomever he was speed-speaking to. At least Thad would understand everything though. Or would that annoy him more?

.....
-stays silent during the whole speech then gives a sad smile-
...Thad... Why can you never understand...?
I want to be your friend... Your anything, as long as I'm not your enemy anymore...
-steps up and touches his cheek-
Not-so-deep down... Under all of this sadness and anger... you're a good person...
Max saw it and now, I do too.
Max loves you, and anyone Max loves has to be good. No matter what kind of front you try to put on, Thad, and no matter how many times you try to push me away, I'll keep on coming back. I want you in my life and I want to be in yours.
We need each other, Thad.
