What Defines Me

What you call me doesn't matter

Consider yourself lucky........
.....if I even bother to acknowledge your existence
I don't dwell on my past
my past is my past, my present is my present
The only thing i will ever be able to change is my future
You will see me make mistakes
You will see faults in me
You see will things about me that you don't like
However.....just know...
that I have asked God to take those faults....
those weaknesses.....those mistakes.....
and show me a way to use them to make myself a stronger man
I don't ask you to sympathize with my weaknesses
sympathize with my strengths....
....that is what challenges me to be better
no amount of physical pain could EVER compensate for the anguish that my heart goes through
but when you look at me....
you will not see that pain in my face,
you will not see that pain in my eyes,
you will not see that pain in my actions....
You will see a man that puts that pain aside...
and realizes that that pain will NEVER be able to change who he is
that pain will never change the way that he lives his life
that pain will never be allowed to manifest itself in his spirit...
