Especially since Jim Crow didn't legally end in some places until the 80s and it technically exists to this day in different ways. A lot of people seem to think that if you're not burning crosses and spewing slurs, you're not racist. stressed

And another negative aspect is just how short memoried the oppressor tends to be. Every time someone brings up slavery being so long ago, I just wonder how they can exclude everything that's happened since the 1860s.

Shame that most Atlantans don't really know the racial history of the city. Black people are doing very well in the segregated South. Birth of a Nation comes out. White folk pillage and kill and burn. sad

Dunno what we can do to help in the thread. Guess if we can't change their mind, we'll have to cut our losses. Though I have noticed, being a metro-Atlanta native, that white Atlantans teeeeend to be a lil bit racist. I'm sure part of it's just the fact that white people aren't the ones in power there. It's historically precedented, unfortunately. sad

1. Thanks for helping my thread get to 5 pages!
2. My goal was to get people mad and the only thing I read from the article was the piece I quoted excluding the link to the "quote" section. I agree with that one piece of the article and I didn't even read the whole article it was way too long. The other goal was to get a bunch of pages at least over 3.
