É desbocada, adora falar o que passa na cabeça, soltando alguns palavrões. Mesmo assim ela é uma das mais fortes dos Quatro do Som. Sua arma principal é uma flauta. Quando ela usa seu Selo amaldiçoado Selo Amaldiçoado nível 1 ela consegue invocar três espíritos que ela controla com música. Se eles falharem ela ativa seu Selo Amaldiçoado nível 2 e solta genjutsus no seu oponente. A única arma que ela tem é sua flauta.mas ainda sim os irmãos sakon e ukon são mais fortes que a tayuya como diz seu mestre orochimaru. Quando membro dos 4 do Som, apareceu um quinto membro, Kimimaro, que sozinho derrotou os quatro, e virou líder deles. Só que ele ficou doente, e os 4 do Som voltaram a ser quatro. Eles, mais tarde, ajudaram seu mestre Orochimaru no ataque à Konoha. E o ajudaram uma última vez, levando Uchiha Sasuke para Orochimaru. Só que no meio do caminho eles tiveram que enfrentar dois jounins e mais tarde alguns genins de Konoha. Tayuya lutou contra um deles, Nara Shikamaru, e quase o matou, depois dele ter feito uma estratégia perfeita e ter ficado sem chakra, mas outra ninja, dessa vez de Suna, Temari, o salvou e a matou.
Tayuya is the kunoichi of Orochimaru's Sound Four. She is foul-mouthed (a fact for which Jirobo berates her) and ill tempered, but very powerful. Tayuya is very intelligent and can think of strategies and battle tactics almost on par with Shikamaru Nara. As the only sound-using member of the Sound Four, Tayuya uses a flute in battle. Because this is her only weapon, she avoids close combat at all costs. To help her with this, she can summon three powerful demons, which she controls with Demon Flute: Illusionary Warriors Manipulating Melody by playing specific notes on her flute to achieve specific actions. If the demons aren't enough to keep opponents at bay, she uses her flute to play the War of Evil Men and trap the opponent with Demonic Flute: Dream Sound Chain. Once trapped in the genjutsu, the target feels as if they are tied with numerous wires, restricting their movement. Soon after, their flesh will begin to melt away from their bones, causing great pain and horror to the target.
