Yeah man, I’m not much for the shooter games either. My buddy likes it tho and so we can do that to connect. It’s fun tho I’m not very good. Some games I’m constantly getting revived. I was more Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Banjo Kazooie, DK 64, smash bros, Mortal Combat, Pokemon, Kingdom Hearts, or Mario type games.
One thing is that the more you focus on what you don’t want to do the more you will tend to think about it or remember and end up doing it. It’s like when people want to overcome OCD— one of the ways to deal with it is by not trying or focusing on trying not to do the things. I like visiting with my therapist. It’s good and healthy to have a therapist or visit one periodically even when there’s nothing “wrong.” Lol the last guy who was staring at me.. I asked him if he had a staring problem and he responds “yeah wanna fix it?” Long-story boring; I pepper-sprayed him and his friend. But you know what? It’s better not to put out that kind of energy in the first place. He pulled up later to where I was with two friends, so three of them and they had golf clubs. They didn’t end up doing anything but still. I’m probably going to try quitting smoking.. which I have been trying but I keep buying a pack. Then if I don’t buy a pack I’ll end up bumming one and right away it just feels like I may as well buy the pack if I’m still going to smoke one even here and there. Which just ends up being smoking a few a day. You know in Mexico they sell basically every brand with the “crush” option. Like how here we have camel crush they have crush Marlboro and Pall Malls. Maybe others too but they have that option for my as well as flavored. Some of their cigarettes come with those shock therapy type images of people with the side effects of smoking on them. You can come out of whatever you’ve been going thru. It’s a whole process but I believe in your ability to overcome. You might have to actively choose to replace thoughts you don’t want with good thoughts of things you do like. Our brains get stuck on loops and cycle through the same pathways. We have to disrupt the frequency and recalibrate. Focusing on your breathing can help in many ways. Breathing with meditation goes hard too. There are so many different kinds of meditations. You can even make up your own. One that I like is to take time close my eyes and listen. I’ll focus on my breathing without controlling it. Anything that I hear I’ll let go. I won’t bout a name to what I’m hearing. It could be birds or cars driving around outside, neighbors, music playing, sirens, etc but you hear them without naming them. You don’t decide what it is. You just let them go while focusing on your breathing without controllin g it.
