Seen your comments in the "military" thread in the GD, thanks for serving. I was an MM before I got out, I was stationed in Sasebo, Japan and was on the USS Essex.

Nice to meet someone whos in the military on Gaia. Cool that you're in the navy. I know my parents would probably prefer me to join the navy or air force but I'm wanting to join the army and be a grunt. Following my grandfathers footsteps. Although I wont become a POW. My grandfather served in WW2 and was a POW with the germans. I'm also wanting to join the military so that I can go back to school college and get degrees in criminal justice, sociology, psychology, programming and game design on the side. Have a few trade skills as well such as building computers and fixing cars and perhaps being a fitness instructor too who helps other people get in shape. Plan to learn some philosophy as well and Christianity as well as a few other religions. I'm also wanting to learn more about myself as I go through a journey and experience what its like being on the borderline between life and death. My plan is to spend 20 years in the army. After 5 years of being a grunt try out for the rangers and after 15 of being in the rangers try out for the secret service.

I'm still somewhat iffy about being a military wife (never in a million years could have predicted that my life would take this turn!)
But I am starting to get used to the idea.
