The fanfic sounds awesome!
And we would do the Trek theme, but there's not enough time to get everything ready. We were just given the official date, and it's August 12. But we're trying to incorporate Trek somehow since I told her about it and she loved the idea.

So you'll appreciate this. Earlier this week I went to a play that we have here every year. A small acting group preforms one Star Trek episode. This year was Mirror Mirror.

and we're currently planning my best friend's bachelorette party and one of the themes we were looking at was Trek and having her as the captain, the bridal party as commanding officers, and everyone else as redshirts. xd

Wow, it sounds like you're having a lot of fun. South Carolina is beautiful, and I'm jealous you're out there, haha.

I'm in Oklahoma, so unless it's tornado season, there's nothing much exciting going on. (Except last year, we got out of school for an entire week due to snow and ice -- we called it 'Snowpocalypse 2011.')

I'm currently studying for a B.A. in English, with an emphasis on writing. My hope is to work as a copyeditor at either a major book publishing company or with a magazine. I currently have a job on campus with a literary magazine. They really love me a lot over there, and I'm hoping the opportunities there will open other, grander opportunities for me in the future.

I tried for internships this summer, but it just wasn't meant to be. So I'm stuck at home, sitting on my butt and watching TV/browsing the interwebs all day. :]

School has been so wonderful for me. I've been forced to grow up a lot (which sounds bad, but it's something I definitely needed to do). I'm in a sorority -- don't judge -- which has really opened me up socially. I've really blossomed through the sorority, in which I hold several leadership positions. In addition, I've won a scholarship from the sorority every year since pledging -- my goal is to be the only member to win a scholarship three times in a row, so cross your fingers for me!

Though college has also opened my eyes to a lot of things that I've done wrong in the past. I quit dancing my senior year, and started realizing how much psychological damage that whole world has caused me. I'm constantly battling anxiety about... well, everything, really. I always though that my perfectionism was just something that gave me a little character flair, but now it's something that seems to be imprisoning me. My hope is that I'll be able to find time to seek counseling during the school year (though my schedule is pretty full -- full-time classes, full-time sorority, part-time job, and an internship -- phew).

As for Gaia, I'm pretty much operating as a lone wolf. I don't really have a 'home' thread that I report to anymore -- I figure that because I'm only around seasonally, that it doesn't matter. And I haven't seen/talked to anyone; in fact, I've creeped on people and it seems most have abandoned ship -- Kags, for instance. I'm a volunteer image cutter for Tektek's Avatar Creator, and I work at various bump shops, but that's about all.

It's crazy how much everyone changes in only a few years....

Haha, I know -- it's been too long!
I'm good, trying to kill some time while I do absolutely nothing this summer. Hence all the Gaia time, haha. :]
I'm almost done! One year left and I'll have a degree... and then I have no idea what I'm going to do, haha. But isn't that everyone's story?

Thanks for the advice! Luckily, I've already visited both schools, but with Columbia it's more a matter of remembering what I found when I went there last summer. USC I can probably visit any old time. But thank you again! You've been a great help since the beginning. This choice is going to be one of the toughest of my life so far, but somehow it will all work out (I hope).

And wow, I have to say that's not bad at all. I'd say it was worth the trouble AND the money! Congrats biggrin

Not sure if you read my last comment yet, but I just wanted to let you know that my decision will now have to be made between USC and Columbia. I know it almost seems ridiculous not to attend Columbia, but I feel like USC's really the right fit for me. Do you have any advice? I am quite conflicted!

Thank you! It was actually my first-choice school. I have little hope for getting accepted to Yale or Columbia (and the truth of the matter is, I believe I'd rather go to USC anyway - my relatives would flip if they heard that one xd ). So being accepted to USC was really exciting. I just have to wait to find out what my financial aid offer will be to determine whether I can go there for sure. I will let you know when I know!
