Ugh... What a horrible summer. Japanese pop culture tells us that summer is the time of cherry blossoms and love, at least if anime is to be believed. My own time in Japan proves most of it true, with the add in of the fact they think its time to drink a ton of alcohol under the cherry trees in the vain hope that doing so blesses your life and makes you live forever. Too bad Asahi is nasty beer...

My summer has had no cherry blossoms or love, sadly. I've been back from Japan for a year now. Wow... depressing. What have I done? I am back working my awful swing shift job from 3 pm to midnight... but...

I did graduate from College (officially now, I have the damn diploma!) with a BA in bloody Creative Writing. Hooha. And what have I done but gone and got accepted into grad school for two MORE grueling years of higher education in Asian Studies. Maybe I'll study japanese more seriously, and maybe even find me a scholarship to go back to ol' Nihon on... That'd be good.

Oh yeah, I bought the last guitar I will buy for a long time. No really. =D It's an awesome Dean Razorback Flying V. I luvs it. <3 Nothing else can compare, sound is good, plays good... My search is over.

Now I just need to work on that love interest part. I'm not too worried about cherry blossoms, I have pictures of Ueno park in full bloom hehe.

Sephirob Report | 08/04/2008 11:15 pm: Durr, no, yellow flowers is for a decapitation, i.e. Seppuku. White IS the color of death, and white alone. Hence death kimono are white, such as when you're cremated. Thats a hold over from the Edo period where samurai would wear pure white, undecorated kimono when they had to commit seppuku.
