He who covers his sins will not prosper,
But whoever confesses and forsakes
them will have mercy.
My Son, Give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your eyes;
Keep them in the midst of your heart;
For they are life to those who find them,
And health to all their flesh.
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so
great a cloud witnesses, let us lay aside every weight,
and the sin which so easily ensnares us,and let us run
with endurance the race that is set before us,
who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree,
that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness-
by whose stripes you were healed.
But sancity the Lord God in your hearts, and
always be ready to give a defense to everyone
who a reason for the hope that is in you, with
meekness and fear,
having a good conscience, that when they defame
you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct
in Christ may be ashamed.
For it is better, if it is the will of God to suffer
for doing good than for doing evil.
