Haha, that sounds about right. I just know the tonality is going to kill me, too. In Mandarin, the only difference between 'thank you' and 'diarrhea' is a change in tone. D:

Buhuhu thanks ;_; I hope I ever get anything published, but it seems daunting, not to mention the fact that I'm so much of a perfectionist that I just know that, a few years down the road, I'd look back at my first published book with a lot of undue shame. It's a paradox because I really want to write for a living, but I apparently have a fear of being published...but I'll have to get over it.

Yeah, there are roughly a metric ******** of characters, but I want to at least try before I psych myself out, haha. One of my friends told me that Korean is easy to learn because of the alphabet (hangul? right? ) but I tried to write my name in 'Korean letters' once at Girl uh, Boy Scout camp, and I remember having a huge mental block with it for some reason, haha.
It's pretty cool that you can tour there at all, really. O:
In my vampire story, there's a lot of trans undertones, haha. Like, once you're bitten you're basically a vampire but you spend years trying to afford fang surgery and other stuff to help you 'fit in' with the 'real' vampires. There are 3 different classes: the heirs (those whose parents were vampires and they're vampires), the converts (the humans-turned-vampires) and the reborns (were born to vampires, came out human for some reason, but were quickly converted. the vampire government tries to sweep their existence under the rug, but there's been an uprising of reborn pride lately). And basically the heirs have all the power and the money, while the converts are looked down on and the reborns even more so. So my protagonist has to navigate all of this, plus his newfound sexuality (because with vampirism comes a change in sexuality, just like hormones apparently) and...yeah, idk, I think it's going to be something people haven't seen before. At least, that's my hope. (end rant)

I think it's gonna be Mandarin, but the website/advertisement didn't say. D: I've recently come to realize that, though it will be really difficult to learn, it will also be really useful. Besides, it's a beautiful language. biggrin
Oh, well that still sounds nice! Are you going with your school or independently?
Thanks! Yeah, I liked vampires a lot when I was a teenager, so I thought I'd recapture that. I think vampires get a lot of bad press lately thanks to Twilight, but they're a really interesting species as a whole.

Oh, and as for writing: I'm doing something I never thought I would do. I've started writing a vampire romance novel. (dies inside) It's so fun, though! And the whole thing is a metaphor for being transgender! I've been trying to write at least a few pages every day before work.

Oh, well, good for you! Lately I've been thinking that I should've gone to grad school right out of college because, according to one of my old professors (with whom I'm Facebook friends...what a nerd), in order to publish a novel translated from Spanish to English, I'll need more academic clout or something. But I'm putting it off. I'm strongly considering taking this free Chinese language+culture class that my local Chinese church is offering, though. biggrin
Working at a museum actually sounds awesome. How long are you going to be in North Korea?

It's okay to draw whatever you like. You should draw whatever you like the most. Sometimes realistic style is quite boring IMO.

I like mixed style the most. xd

Anyway, I'd give looser clothes to my females too since curves are really hard to draw.

Your style looks quite unique although it's "anime". It looks kinda like non-mainstream manga style to me.
