I hope you get better.

Sorry for the late reply, just been busy with work, busy around town, and very tired.

Yeah, took me about a week to get over it.
But I had some orange juice, ate me some garlic toast, quit eating sweets, and it went away.

So how's weather for you?
I'm near-broke, I'm stuck in cold weather, and I have a small cold.
This sucks, but at least I don't have tonsils, so my throat doesn't swell up or anything.
It just feels itchy.

Yeah, but the Pirate Cove (or whatever) sounds just as odd.

I think so too, but then again, watch other people (like me) have a problem with the name being 'realistic'.
Like when my mom was asking me where I was and I kept saying "The Yellow Brick Road, yes, it's a real place, I'm in it now."
I could only imagine this happening:
A person collapses in the store and a paramedic asks for a location, and a person says "I'm at The Yellow Brick Road."
Or maybe a police officer trying to respond to someone calling about a robbery at "The Yellow Brick Road."

It was just a flea market, but they got rid of the name, I don't know if the original owner was bought off or something else.
Now I think it's called The Pirate Cove or something.
Same deal though, go in and buy whatever they have lying around.
Sadly, all the Wizard of Oz stuff is no longer there.

I did know it was a comic, but it isn't a comic I'd really go for.
But if I walked into a store and saw it lying on a shelf, an old original one, then I'd buy it up without hesitation.

I actually made a superb deal at a flea market, and got a good deal for my sister as well.
For her, we walked into this place called "The Yellow Brick Road" (because it mostly featured antique Wizard of Oz collectibles) and we walked room to room, she wanted to leave early, but I insisted we stay and find something.
That's when I found a whole bunch of original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles behind some magazines, still in perfect condition, so she bought them all.
I forget what prices people were asking for them online, but I think anywhere from $10-$50+? which is great considering the place only sold them for about $1-$2 each, I think. (She didn't sell them, she collects them.)

Funny part about shopping at The Yellow Brick Road: One day my mom called me and I said "I'm at The Yellow Brick Road."
...And she didn't believe me, so she kept asking for a real location.
XD

But then one time I went into a different flea market, and found some of the most amazing comics ever.
I found a Spider-Man Unlimited comic featuring The Puma, from 1997 - and bought it for $1.50
I found another Spider-Man Unlimited comic featuring the Frankenstein Monster, from 1998 - and bought it for $1.50
I found The Spectacular Spider-Man comic featuring The Hobgoblin, from 1998 - and bought it for $1.50

The two more amazing comics I've found from there are Strange Tales featuring Cloak and Dagger, and Doctor Strange - all three characters that I love and yet are hardly recognized.
I have the first issue collector's item from 1987, and the second issue - bought them for $1.50 apiece as well.

At my work, we'll get in packs of magazines about $5.99 for about 10-12 magazines, they're all mixed up, but I bought a pack that had Ghostrider, and another with Robocop.
But I'm not going to sell my stash, either.

Though my top comics are The Crow, which my sister's fiance gave to me as a gift, and my mom gave me a behind-the-movie book detailing stuff from it. emotion_kirakira

One weird show I came across recently was called Duckman.
My sister and I used to watch it when we were younger, but I was looking through it and was like "Gosh, the things kids could watch back in those days."

Yeah.
I saw Courage screaming on your profile again.
XD

Have you ever watched a show called The Oblongs, by the way?
I recently came across it and was like "Dude, yes~!" because I had forgotten about it but it was so hilariously dark and skanky.
I loved it then, I love it now, too bad it didn't get such great popularity.

It'd be so awkward if the reason of my memory loss was walking into a bedroom and witnessing...
Awkward moment times.

Though honestly, my memory does have a downside.
Years ago, I actually got a problem with sudden amnesia.
We don't know what happened, but I guess I saw something that scared me so badly, that it made me forget most of my memory, my childhood.
My mom got me checked out by the doctor when it happened, and he said I wasn't hit upside the head by anything, and I had no problem with my brain, luckily.
So while I still don't have a lot of my memory back from when I was really young, I'm still getting a bit of my memory back.
Sometimes I do wonder about what I might have seen, but sometimes I think that maybe it's best not to know.

I usually remember name and avatar, if not that, then something they've talked to me about before, or their profiles.
So if someone says "Yeah, I got a yellow coat" or "Yeah, my dog is a fat hound" then I'll be able to remember that person.

Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad.
If I see someone that knows me and they walk by or something, I don't know them.
This has happened quite a bit, and then they think I dislike them, and then I have to explain "No, I wasn't ignoring you, I just didn't remember you" which obviously hurts feelings.

I'm not good with faces, but there has to be something about that person that makes me remember them.
It's either their voice, something that they are wearing, or a scent of perfume or something.
If a person has an accent and I hear it in a crowd, it helps me find them quickly.
Also if I see a person wearing something like a yin-yang necklace from years ago and then I see someone wearing that necklace, I can recognize them by just that.
Then if I smell a person's perfume, I don't even have to look at them, and I can know who just walked past me.
Memory is just a strange thing, but it works for everyone somehow.

Eh, I don't have to jot notes about a person.
I have a strange memory - I might not remember what I ate two days ago, might not remember what I wore last weekend, might not remember a song on the radio I had overheard in the morning, but I can remember every spoken word and action of a person when it concerns me.
It's strange, like a human camera.
If I witness something and someone asks me to say what all happened, then I can go back and say everywhere that a person walked, every pose a person did, and everything that everyone said in complete order and almost word-for-word.
But it has to be something that I disagree with for my brain to remember it, such as a person hits a person, a person steals something, or just exchanged snide comments.
Also the memory doesn't usually just go away after talking about it; sometimes I can remember it for months or years.
Sometimes, the human brain has strange memory capabilities.

Nah, I understand what you were saying about your coworkers.
I don't say anything bad to them about anyone there, because that person I tell it to will run and tell that person exactly, or that person's friend.
And I agree, I know people say things bad about me behind my back, but at least I can know that it's nothing true and have nothing to worry about.
I don't drink alcoholic beverages, I don't smoke, I don't cuss, don't steal, don't really lie (I'm a terrible liar so why try) and I don't do anything bad.
I might dress like a guy, act like a guy, but that's nothing.
I like to alphabetize my movies and books, I like to study foreign languages and write (rather crappy) stories, and I draw pictures for fun.
Things I like to do are run on treadmills, play on my computer, try fixing things or rearranging furniture.
I'm a hard worker at work, I like to lift things that are heavy for my coworkers who aren't as strong as me, I'm clean about my desk space, and I'm memorized at most things I know.

So if someone wants to start a rumor about me, getting pregnant by an underage boy, getting drunk in an alleyway, ripping off from the government (an actual thing I've heard,) then there's at least no truth in it that I have to worry about.
If rumors make their day go round, then they're idiots for believing it and they suffer from an inability to grow up, especially if they're in their forties, fifties, almost sixties.
I had a fifty-plus year old coworker trying to nose her way into my life and asking me if I got money from the government, and I told her "No, the only money I get is from here at work" so she asked, "Does your mom give you money?"
It just ticked me off and I said "I'm not rich, and I'm not lying to the goverment and taking their money. I'm not on Food Stamps, because I make too much money here. I'm not taking money from my mom, because I'm not a lowlife bum. Actually, I give my mom any money that she asks for, because I'm not greedy. The only money I get is from here at work, and I'm sorry that my ability to save money makes you suspicious. I'm not married to a rich man like you are, so I can't just quit my job like you can."
It made her mad that I told her off in front of everybody, but she deserved it.
I mind my own business and if she wants to turn that into rumors, then she'll know it's the size of the fight in the dog.
I get dirty with people that want to spread dirt, and I will use the truth about them against themselves. emotion_awesome

I do know one thing though, she's been on my nerves lately and if she bothers me again in a way I don't like, I actually will write the manager a huge letter of how I've been treated by her.
If people don't like it, and they don't want to be around me any more, then they need to get their heads out of her butt and see the way I've been treated, because it just might be them next.
She just treated me like garbage on Saturday, and though I've somewhat forgiven her, I'm not on the 'buddy-buddy' level she's trying to reach with me; we're just on the 'coworker-coworker' level.

**continued again, sorry. emotion_facepalm

I used to hang out with my girl cousin, but she went psychopathic, was cutting herself up and then threatening to kill me, but her mother took her daughter's side and told me to stay away from her kids until I straightened up, and when confronted about it, she "had no clue" about anything, so now none of my family wants anything to do with me because they're both two-faced liars and nutcases.
So my ablility to trust others really isn't there, and it's probably the main reason I don't get along so well with others.

My coworkers have trouble with me because they know I have a trust problem, but they all swear to be your best friend and then find anything to talk bad about you.
One older woman is stuck up the butt of another girl, and the other way around, yet the girl doesn't realize the woman is talking so badly about her to other coworkers.
Then the girl is talking bad about the others to the older woman coworker, and another coworker was talking bad about the girl.
You can't say anything to anybody, so it's just a matter of keeping your mouth shut and keeping information to yourself, and rumors get very bad quickly.
Years ago, I had walked by my store with a young male friend from school, he was fifteen and I was nineteen, and the next day I went to work, everyone was aking me why I was arm-in-arm with this mystery man, tongue-tied and stuff.
I was grossed out, and I said "That's disgusting, I'm not a *****, he's fifteen years old. Do you think I'd go to jail for some kid?"
And then by next week apparently I was pregnant, so I took it to the managers, I told them that they were assuming I was a ***** and pregnant by a kid, so the managers got ticked pretty quickly because they knew it was out of hand and that I'm not that type of person.

So while I wish it would be nice to have a friend at work, I don't think it would work out either.

Aside from those problems, there are other, more personal problems that I don't really share with people in person.
I just get the feeling if I told somebody that I really thought I could trust, that they'd think I'm completely insane until proven wrong, and then they'd become afraid of me and never want anything to do with me again.
I guess it's one reason I don't have relationships and I'm not good with being completely honest, because if I was all-out honest, everything turns into a never-ending trainwreck.
