While basking on a warm rock just out of sight from the nearest beach, I was singing of my joy to the waters around me. Suddenly, this ugly creature leapt from the depths and in an evil voice screamed its orders for me to be silent. But my happiness was too great for me to hear properly the first two times that it had commanded. So, the hiddeous figure said, "Since you will not in your wretched melody be silent, you must walk the earth 'til someone holds you in sentiment."At those words, my tail vanished to be replaced by human legs. I dove into the water to swim away to my father's palace, but it was too late. Even my gills had disappeared! No longer could I breathe beneath the water's surface. So, turning to the beach in fear, I found a cave in a nearby cliff. And here I remain in my lonely new melodies until...
