I know that occasionally Moonlight BJD has stuff for the SOOM guys, but they're a bit pricey. Nice stuff, though. If I see anything good while I'm browsing Taobao or elsewhere, I'll send the links your way!
I actually have a pretty good camera, I just tend to like to take quick snaps with my phone. Part of my problem is a lack of location to take photos, you can kinda tell that 90% are taken inside my single room apartment. I can't wait for nice weather so I can start taking them out into the yard and photographing again. One of my absolute favorite photosets is this one of Harley which I got outside.
Yeah, true, shipping is a bit wow at the moment. Most of the major bjd shops sell them, and most wig places too. I usually tack mine on whenever I order doll clothes or something. Mmmmm, now that I think of it, I should have done that with my latest Taobao order.
Did my autocorrect mess up again? It was supposed to say rubber wig cap, not clip. XD Y'know, like these things. They help a lot with my wig slippage. Of course, if you've a doll like my Dream Valley Greyson who can't wear the wig cap due to the built in horns, I use those little self adhesive velcro spots to help hold on the wig. They can be removed fairly easily if necessary, but they grip the wig at least enough to hold it as long as you don't engage in vigorous activity.
Ah, and now I've decided to catch up on doll hand blushing and manicures...
And oooh, cool! I've ordered semi-custom wigs before (choose the colors based on a premade style), but never a full custom! Do you have one of those rubber head caps? Those would probably help with the slippage!
True true! I have a minor addiction to Little Gems, no lie. I'm especially interested in the new body that they just redid, it's slightly taller and more slender, which is nice.
I've never been to a doll convention! I don't think there are any in this area, actually, at least that I know of. Of course, with you know what, there probably won't be any for a long while. Maybe there'll be some virtual ones?
I know, I love fantasy and supernatural themed dolls! Let's see, I've got demons, angels, merpeople, dragons, kitsune, a gemstone elemental (like the Jumi from Legend of Mana), dream eating spirits, a siren, a death god, a kirin, a vampire, elves, an android, a werewolf, a space deer, and two very tired humans who keep getting dragged into shenanigans.
In one of my BJD stories, the "angelic" and "demonic" worlds sandwich the human world, and they keep meeting up there and fighting. Of course, the characters later find out that the "angels" and "demons" are the same race, just the angels started surgically removing their horns at birth after splitting away and began growing feathers on their wings because their world was much colder and they needed the protection. One of the human characters later ends up transformed into one of the winged races and ends up looking like a mix of both with the horns from one and the feathery wings from the other due to the cold climate during the transformation.
Yeah, I've been going through either BJDivas or NewClover-Singing for my dolls. Divas offers super long layaways, which is nice, and while Clover doesn't offer quite as long (I think 6 months is their max?) they have some pretty awesome sales compared to other dealers, and Christina (the owner?) is super nice. Soom, I believe, is one of the few companies that doesn't work with dealers, unfortunately (for my wallet, LOL). I'm kinda eyeing their newest Little Gem too, I love the fantasy parts.
I'm all about the fantasy colors and pastels! I'm trying to be pretty varied, I've got a few redheads, blondes, and brunettes, then a mix of pinks, purples, whites and blues. I'm still not satisfied with what I could find for Dove's hair, so that's why I'm trying to make a wig.
Haha, that's a mood! I tend to put my dolls on layaway, so I'm used to the wait, but I do love companies like BJDivas that you can pay off the layaway while you're waiting for the doll to be produced. Makes waiting for stuff from Dream Valley and such less painful. I think my longest wait was for my DollZone Leon, that one was over a year. Shame, 'cause Dollzone has some nice sculpts, but I definitely don't want to try waiting for them again. razz
Oh, I trust nothing from them that doesn't have a bazillion good reviews on it already, with reviews actually written out in words, and not just stars. I need to dig out my sewing kit this weekend and start putting a wig together. I wanted to try and make something in a coral color for my tropical bird boy.
