Okay, it's gonna be a long one.

Man I've got one more year at NCC then I'm done. Taken me 4-ish years to finish at a 2-year community college. It's sad. I've been a part-time student since day one, so I can work the same job (I'm still there no as a matter of fact) and have the money to afford art supplies and monthly car payments. That girl I went on a date on almost 3 years ago? We're together now. In fact, it'll be our third year this June.

I just 'finished' a group collab project for my Media Art class. That s**t was stressful as hell. I'm no Van Gogh, but the group I ended up with didn't feel very artistic to me, and though we started off with a strong idea the finished product didn't appeal to me very well. I'm not saying they're bad, but I could kinda see they were trying to take shortcuts. This whole project is being displayed at an art show April 3rd. It's at this really cool place not far from campus called "ArtsQuest", and our instructor could not stress enough that it was the very first time a school has ever been allowed to have any kind of gallery there, so he wanted everything to look perfect. Our critique was today, and I guess it didn't turn out as bad as I thought. I just hate group projects. I'm paying all this money to do my own thing, not a group's. I know artists typically do collaborative stuff in the real world, but let's face it: It's with friends and colleagues whom they already know the work ethics of. Christ.

But other than that, I've been doing great. Painting is pretty fun, and I am just now discovering how cool 'sound art' is. That's actually our next assignment in that class.

What's your portfolio for? I've probably forgotten, but are you a graphic design/fine art major?
