Bumblebee is one of Optimus Prime's most trusted lieutenants. Although he is not the strongest or most powerful of the Autobots, Bumblebee more than makes up for this with a bottomless well of luck, determination and bravery. He would gladly give his life to protect others and stop the Decepticons.
He is one of the smallest and physically weakest Autobots. While his stature allows him to do his job better than most Autobots could manage, he is self-conscious about his size. Maybe this is why he makes fast friends among the humans. He looks up (so to speak) to the other Autobots, especially Optimus Prime, but what he doesn't realize is that they look up to him. He may be small, but he's brave, and he's one of the most well-liked Autobots around. Bumblebee already has the respect he craves. But the poor bot seems to get kidnapped a lot.
Badly damaged in battle, Bumblebee lost the ability to speak, though he can still communicate over inter-Autobot frequencies (in a fashion that seems somewhat akin to instant messaging, a usable but more distant and less personal means of interaction).
Bee is a skilled fighter in both hand-to-hand and when using weapons. His right arm turns into a blaster rifle that he uses more often than not but if need be he can throw down with the best of them, having been trained by his fellow autobots. His small build make him rather quick on his feet and, despite his size, he is still very strong and able to easily pick up other 'bots though he does have a harder time when his combatants are much, much larger than he himself is.
