About

I'm a fond practitioner of insanity, enjoy earnest arguments, and love language and that saying things like poop and tittydickpiss are undyingly hilarious. Life and death aren't the same (whatever that means...).

I LOVE COMICS.
A breif commentary on the importance of comics (OF ALL KINDS AND GENRES[except, to be particular, some of the brutally disfunctional and degrading piss paper that's being printed by tokyoPOP and so forth]) :::

Firstly, the arts meld with and compliment each other as every art from martial arts to literature comes from the heart of a man, and is such so expression of it--be it what he is, what he thinks he is, what he thinks he should be, or what he thinks those around him should be--thoughts prevoked from early childhood to history to break ups to wars to religions. Art ranges and captures. it treads on the battle ground of criticism and dances through the many confusing notes that love plays the artist. However, art retains structure. A painter cannot but begin without color, a shape cannot be formed without a concept. The writer cannot escape his culture and his language, and the proper or the nonproper aspects intended throughout his writing style. The poet follows his verse and stanza (Although since T.S Eliot's essays on blank or free verse--and moreso the growing investment on his masterpiece "The Wasteland"--the structures of poetry have been destroyed by many modern poets led but to the stupidity of our modern "objective" world, which seemingly has no need for the boundries of value and the "restrictions" of the truth. yet such is a whole other debate, as none of such were eliot's intentions, and this essay is of comic criticism--and not that of poetry).
and of course the dialogue in comics are captured in squares and bubbles, the art and the characters in small panneled consecutive boxes.
yet even with structure, different arts, are simply different and themselves. Poetry so captures emotion and elloquent thought in language. The novelist captures life, character arch, or lack there of in his characters and settings for his affects. And the graphic novelist, what ever his nationality writes and draws capturing poetry and thought, capturing emotion and literature, capturing color and letter. call me a nerd, what ever, Comics are a dutiful art, and most likely the comics you love are written and drawn by a man who isn't getting payed or appreciated as much as he so should be. I believe comics to be an important art form to protect, and not turn into mass production s**t. thank you.
