Once upon a time, Gaia was my haven. I came here like an addict, spent more time refreshing threads than I did much of anything else, and lost many nights' sleep keeping up with role plays, events, and friends. And then gaia changed. A site once built on donations and friends became something else and I lost a lot of the interest. I noticed a new generation of people coming in and though I tried, I often failed to mesh with them. Maybe I was getting too old. Maybe I had outgrown the phase. So, I left, for a long, time. But I could not bring myself to let such an enormous part of my youth behind. I am glad to gaia for the friends it has brought me, the skills it has taught me, and the happiness I felt while here. I wish all the users and the website the best.
I will always be a gaian, even if I fail to stop in more than once every 3 years.
