Me too! I got back around the same time as zOMG and been on and off because this is the only thing I can "play". I haven't had a break since March.

Oh. I didn't answer the part about summer performances. I am a professional music educator. In the summer, I have more free time. Some summers I travel to teach music camps. Other summers, I play with community bands.

Gaia didn't have a problem with Tekton running the website (even with ads) because the service was a compliment to Gaia and attracted users to Gaia. Eventually, Tekton made a similar website (a competitor, if you will). They continued running ads on their website but some of them were ads for their new competitor site. Gaia asked either to stop running ads for the competition or to take the site down. Tekton took tektek down. It was known that the site wasn't being well updated since the creation of the competitor site and I think the owner was glad to move on from tektek to focus on their new project.

I came back hoping to find zOMG. I was never a heavy tektek user but I did find out right away that it was gone.
I came back on my birthday because it was the first birthday I've had in 5 years where I didn't have a summer performance scheduled.
I'm actually not very active but I do come on regularly.

When we lose someone... or something... moving on isn't easy. It's not something from which you recover. But you learn to live again. Take Gaia for what it is: a social networking site.
After I came back, I wanted my account to stop reflecting my love for zOMG. I decided I wanted to change up how my profile looks since it was the biggest testament to my zOMG days. I started by removing my zOMG panels. I don't remember exactly how it happened but I chanced upon CSS. Eventually I found the Profile Discussion forum as well. I still consider myself an amateur coder but I've found a new way to connect with the community. smile

I don't. It's just that I read that you've recently come back. I started usin Gaia in 2005. I was around for a few years of zOMG. Gaia was amazing then.
I stopped using Gaia somewhere around 2010 when I started college. I came back on my birthday last June only to find tektek had shut down and that zOMG was gone.
I had a tektek wishlist. Unfortunately all the links are broken now. That's why I pointed out your tektek wishlist.
