Hopogeshia (hō-pō’ gē-shē’ ēă): Mostly found in dark, usually damp, areas. This rare, and dangerous, plant likes to hide near the roots of berry bushes waiting for any warm blooded creature. It was said once the plant ‘feels’ the warmth its vines strike out, latching on to its victim. As it burrows into the skin it starts to slowly devour the flesh, eating its way through out the body. The process is quite painful for the host and is known to last a few days before it becomes fatal. When the carrier dies it becomes a planting ground for the seeds. They use what's left for their nurturance and warmth.
