I completely agree! We need to modernize the text.
Although I can't help, but think that there are a MILLION ways to interpret it anyway that no one can modernize it.
Everyone would have different opinions and with this being America no one could agree on a common interpretation.
I just think commonality is a dream lost in the past.
Plus Buddhist live without technology and the "dramas" of life.
I just think it's fascinating how people can detach from societal ways.
I've always wanted people to just calm the heck down and be reasonable.
However that will never happen.
Humans are just inhumane creatures that are killing machines.
I just love how people think they are entitled to free money with no work.
I just don't get it.
I was always taught if you want something, then you have to work for it.
If you don't work for anything then you don't deserve anything and are just a spoiled brat that doesn't respect anyone or anything.
I just can't stand it.
I don't know why we are just giving money to our citizens
yet we are in a "recession."
We need to pay of our debt first, but no one wants to give money to the government.
It's everyone for themselves.
I hate that mentality.
I was thinking of the UK too, but I heard from a customer that you can't return anything in the retail stores.
I thought that was kind of strange.
Other than that I really think everyone is happy over there.
Although I can't say for certain.
Not everyone loves where they were born.
Every country and continent has it's flaws.
I'm just sick of the U.S.'s
Our fights have no real meaning either.
I just get a bit crazy and frantic and panicked over absolutely nothing.
He's not a calm person so it just erupts into ridiculousness.
But the love we have for each other is really passionate and we show it everyday
which is really important to do in any relationship.
Yes! We really don't have our priorities straight and it's really sad.
I agree with the wages and using the system and people are just so money hungry
that nothing is ever enough.
I don't make enough to live on my own by myself
and sometimes my husbands checks aren't high either.
But we do have A LOT of bills because we want everything.
And that's just it. People want what other people say they need.
If they can't afford it, then they get the money anywhere they can.
It's just a hazardous circle.
I forgot about common law!
That is very true.
Although getting the actual license is just a lot of money
it's just the principal of the thing.
I would still like to change my last name, but that goes a long with whole thing too.
Yeah I just feel no one knows how to run a country.
Everyone's different and you can't please everyone.
It's just a recipe for disaster.
My husband loves stumble upon.
I couldn't really get into tumblr and I never really have anything to post.
I'm more of a lurk I guess. whee
I have heard that "you do not lie with a man like you do with a woman." Everything is interpretation and a lot of people, I believe, get it wrong.
They put in their own beliefs into the interpretations and don't think about what it meant when it was written.
If something is written eons ago then those people have a way different way of thinking than we do now.
It should be common sense, but common sense is really not that common.
I totally agree with you on how everyone preaches love and acceptance,
but at the end of their speech it's like they say "except if you are a different race, color, ethnicity, gender or religion; then we don't like you."
It's like they are preaching love, but act out of hate. It doesn't make any sense. Totally hypocrisy.
I do love Buddhism because they are all about reaching enlightenment
and they don't care if you don't follow them.
They are just like do what you want, we are gonna do what we want.
That's how any religion should be.
One can be exposed and taught about the religion, but if they don't want to join
then they shouldn't be told they are a bad person or that they will go to some horrible place.
It's just nonsense.
Although I do think the more people have progressed the more they have ruined religion.
They have tried to live by it in today's society, but it's so warped and perverted now that no one has a chance!
it is a VERY personal thing and yeah the government should butt out.
I honestly believe that no one knows how to run a governmental body.
No one agrees on anything and the senate just does what it wants!
The presidential spot is totally useless then.
It's just going to hell in a hand-basket.
I'm thinking of moving to Australia.
I have my husband on board with that idea.
I honestly think Britain would even be a better choice.
I completely agree about the yin and yang concept with your significant other.
We are way different on certain things like how we like our food, yet we agree on the important issues that most people fight over.
It's very rare to find someone that you match up perfectly with.
Although sometimes when we fight our fights are awful.
Like I believe in the zodiac and our signs work really well together, but when we fight both of our claws come out.
I'm a Scorpio and he's a Cancer.
But other than that it's fine!
I do believe in equal marriage rights.
Like some people can marry animals, but they can't marry other people?!
It makes absolutely no sense to me.
America is so screwed up it's not even funny.
Our whole value and tradition system is really screwed up.
Like you don't have to work for money, you can just get government money and not work.
I was taught you work for your money and if you need help just let your family know and they will help you.
That's what family is for. To help dig you out of hard times.
But everyone is so selfish now and money hungry that nothing even matters anymore.
I have ALWAYS said that "why do I need a piece of paper telling me that I love someone."
I thought I was the only!
The only reason you need a marriage license is for credit and money purpose's.
It's so ridiculous!
Like I said everyone is money hungry.
I wish we could just do away with money.
And if you need something you can just trade things.
Like back in the old days.
I think money ruined our society.
Well along with the "evolution" of our society.
Sorry I haven't been on in a while. This site called Pinterest has claimed by attention.
Sometime religion acts as a sort of "cop out" for many people.
Especially the extremists that claim to have "faith", but they are really psychopaths.
I'm not really a believer, I'm more agnostic, although if I had to pick a religion it would be Buddhism.
I'm not saying that Buddhism is better; in any religion there will be extremists.
I just like the story of having nothing and wanting nothing, but inner peace and awareness of oneself.
It's pretty fascinating. There is no hate or punishments. Plus they don't care about tattoos or piercings.
They do have deities and prayers which I am a little iffy about just because of the religion stand point.
But they just don't judge or even care if you have different opinions.
Even if someone attacks their religion they don't have hate or disgust towards that person.
They just shrug it off.
I don't know, it's just my personal opinion.
I'm not sure if my mom had her abortion due to complications.
She does have epilepsy so it could be a possibility.
She never really wanted to talk about it with me and I understand.
Being safe is really important and everyone really goes through that phase.
I never thought I would ever want to get married.
But I do believe that when you find that person, you feel like a part of you is filled.
Like yin and yang. You're whole.
And by that point you just stop looking
and I don't really have crushes or think guys are cute anymore.
Like I'll say they are adorable, but it's in the same way I say animals are adorable.
I still think it's ridiculous that you have to pay to have a piece of paper that says you love this person.
However, since I want to be with him for the rest of my life, I have to think in a financial sense.
Things are cheaper if you are legally married and it just makes things easier.
It's also nice to find someone on here to have intellectual conversations with. 4laugh
You had a new dream, it was more like a nightmare.
