The Very BeginningMy beginning starts with my mother, Mikiyo, a b*****d child of an empress who lived her life as an orphan, and my father, Aoshin, one of the last surviving members of the Nagoya clan, a clan banished from the empire by their rival clan. They fled together with my older brother to the island of Rioshi among the Ryukyu Islands, where other refugees had fled. An old lady, also a Nagoya, named Akitsu took them in. When I was born I called her grandma. I lived with her until I left the Island to search for my childhood friend, and eventually husband, Kyokai Suiko.
