Ichigo was a normal 13 year old girl until her DNA was combined with that of an iriomote wildcat. Since that day, she has been able to transform into Mew Ichigo. She was the first Mew Mew to be discovered, and is more-or-less the leader of the group.
Ichigo is in love with Masaya Aoyama, a boy at her school. She is also the love interest of Kishu, one of the aliens.

Zoey Hanson is part teenager, part Wild Mountain Cat and 100% whacky!
As the fearless leader of the Mew Mews, Zoey is under a lot of pressure to prioritize. Should she protect the planet from an extra-terrestrial attack or go out on a date with the cutest boy in school?
Don't worry. She's got it under control...except for the odd freak-out.

At first, she doesn't think highly of Ichigo, and acts like...well, a brat most of the time. Mint tolerates the other girls, but talks the most to Zakuro.

Corina Bucksworth is part blue-blood heiress, part Blue Lorikeet, and all diva!
What's a spoiled little rich girl to do? Battling ill-mannered aliens, taking advanced ballet lessons and working at the Cafe Mew Mew (well...barely) can really cut into your shopping time.
Oh well, such is the life of a Mew Mew!
Whether it's a wicked drop-kick or a withering wise-crack, Corina's always there to help...or at least tell someone else to do it.

Lettuce likes to read, and spends time in the library. The strangest thing about her, considering her animal, is that she can't swim.

Bridget Verdant is part bookworm, part porpoise and one big sweetheart!
Don't let that bookish exterior fool you! She may be dainty and demure on the surface, but when it comes to battling 50-foot alien life forms, this girl's no withering wallflower!

Pudding is the youngest of the group, only in elementary school. She lives with her younger brothers and sister, taking care of them by herself. Her family is from China. She can do many tricks like ride a ball, spin plates, and breathe fire. Since she is so young, she can act obnoxious or annoying sometimes.

Kiki Benjamin is part acrobat, part primat and all show-off!
As the youngest of the Mew Mews, Kiki really knows how to turn on the charm. Whether she's balancing twirling trays of teacakes, or performing a series of breath-taking backflips, this little monkey knows how to raise a smile or two!
But don't worry! When it's back to business, Kiki's fancy footwork keeps the bad guys on the run!

Zakuro is a rising star and model. But the kind and nice personality she uses for television is the opposite of her normal personality. She is anti-social, and sometimes mean to the other girls. At first, she refused to join the Mew Mew group, and Ichigo had to persuade her. Zakuro is the oldest in the group, and understands the situations better than the others sometimes do.

Renee Roberts is part super-model, part Gray Wolf and a whole lot of attitude!
It took a lot to get this way-cool covergirl to leave the limelight and join the Mew Mew team, but when she did, she brought a hipster vibe and a high-fashion flair that leaves the local boys shaking and the bad guys quaking!
Whether brandishing and purple dagger or a brand new pair of designer boots, Renee Roberts is the toughest teen queen on the scene!

Masaya is more-or-less Ichigo's boyfriend. He's in the kendo club at their school, and he has a lot of girls after him, but he seems only interested in Ichigo. He is very enviromental, and does whatever he can to clean up in parks and other areas.

Mark is 16 and one of the most popular boys in school. He is a total jock and champion of the Kendo team. Zoey has a thing for him and it seems that he feels the same way.

Keiichiro is one of the owners of Cafe Mew Mew, the place where the girls work at, and also the secret headquarters of Tokyo Mew Mew. He helped Ryou with the Mew Project after Ryou's parents died.
Keiichiro is kind, and very good at creating new cakes and sweets for the cafe.

Wesley is the other team leader for the Mew Mew project. He is 17 and is much more refined with the girls. Wesley is a true gentleman who is kind and always impresses the Mew Mews. He has excellent taste and etiquette.

Ryou was the one that did the work on the Mew Project along with Keiichiro after his parents' death. They were the ones that chose each girl to get Red Data Animal DNA implanted into them, and gave them their lockets.
Ryou is a genious, and he also lived in America as a child. He is often rude and demanding of Ichigo, but can also turn around and be very nice to her. He seems mysterious in some ways, though...

Elliott is one of the Mew Mew Project team leaders. He is 16 and a little rough around the edges. He can be rude sometimes but overall he is dedicated to Zoey and the Mew Mew project.

Masha is the name Ichigo gave to Ryou's R2000 robot, naming him after Masaya. He can detect Chimera Animals and when the aliens are near. He can also eat the jellyfish-like creatures that the aliens use to create Chimera Animals. He is very protective of Ichigo.

Mini Mew is a Model R2000 computer who can detect Predasites. He warns the Mew Mews when danger is near. He is pink and fluffy.

Kishu is the first alien to appear. He uses an assortment of Chimera Animals, including the kind made from human spirits. His weapons are two swords, one in each hand. He first sees Ichigo as a cute toy and wants her, but later discovers he has fallen in love with her, much to the anger of the other aliens.

He is evil and conniving and always trying to defeat the Mew Mews. Only problem is that he has a crush on Zoey!

Pie is the most serious of the aliens, and is sent out with Tart to help Kishu destroy the Mew Mew and conquer Earth. His weapon is a fan that can create wind and lightning. He also makes an assortment of Chimera Animals, though it seems he doesn't make them as often as the other two aliens do. He is also very smart, using computers and thinking over his plans before going into action.

He is the oldest, most reserved member of the Cyniclons. Sardon is a deep thinker who specializes in data analysis and strategy.

Tart seems to be the yougest of the three aliens, but he hates being called a kid. He is also the most playful. He controls plant-like Chimera Animals, and has a click-clack toy for a weapon. Pudding wants to become friends with him, and he seems to act nice to her (although against his will)

He is the youngest and loudest member of the Cyniclons. Tarb specializes in Plant Predasites.

The "leader" of the villians, Deep Blue wants to eradicate humans and take over the Earth. His true form is only shown at the end of the series, during the rest of the series he is either not shown when speaking or is a shadow.

Deep Blue is a mysterious leader who guides the Cyniclons in their quest to take over earth.

Chimera Animals are the creatures that the aliens send out to attack the Mew Mews. They can be created by sending a jellyfish-like parasite thing into an animal or by taking a human's spirit and fusing the parasite and spirit together. Note that this picture is only one kind of Chimera Animal; the form changes depending on what was fused with the parasite.
