Oh Remy heard her alright. The real question was now whom was playing the game now? Why Gambit was of course and he knew it. He lowered his gaze down to her hand holding his. It was enough to make his heart melt but he wouldn't allow that to happen. He had to help keep up the strong shielding barrier that no one could breach. By allowing someone true access at those heart strings of his. No, he wouldn't allow it. Not like what he had with Bella long ago. But he felt it happening again. What was it that drew him so close to Rogue? The southern belle charm he saw in her? Or perhaps it was her innocent acts she knew perfectly well that drove him madly in love with her? It didn't matter, he knew he was falling. If he was not completely careful he was sure for a fact that he'd completely fall head over heels in love with her.

Lifting his gaze up to Rogue's face, his own eyes studying hers, "Do you realize dat you 'ave beautiful eyes Rogue?" Sounding like he was changing the subject when in fact he was not. His gloved finger tips tracing a sole line along the outside of her jaw to slowly and gently tilt her head up. All he could think of then was a Gone with the Wind poster of their current setting. Rogue being Scarlett O'Hara, the sweet, southern damsel in his arms while he played the role of Rhett Butler. Bemusing to say the least, when that was not the case nor situation. No burning fires behind them now, at least for the time being. "Rogue you know dat I care 'bout chu a lot. I care 'bout you so much dat you are always on my mind. I'm honored really, dat you think de same way. Means a lot dat someone cares about this thief." He smiled back at Rogue, an actual genuine smile not his usual playful smirk he always displayed.

". . . . ." Was the playing the hard to get game again? Or was she really serious? Rogue was really hard to read, sometimes she was serious then there were times when she wasn't. Standing there in silence as he watched her slowly walk away. He walked over briskly to where she was at to move to where he was standing before her. "You didn't apparently 'ear evathin' dat I said. I said I would not always be like dat." Frowning slightly as he studied Rogue's features trying to get a better reading. He knew that probably sounded harsh when he didn't mean for it to come out that way, "I want to see you 'appy. I don't know if I could provide de happiness dat you deserve." He was only being truthful.

Gambit reached over to lift her chin up so that they could see eye to eye. "Whatchu worried about den chère? Gambit is always 'round. Don't be worryin' bout de what if's scenarios. If you spend so much time worryin' 'bout dat. You will live a life filled o' worries. You need ta live n' de moment. Grasp it while it's dere and hold on for as long as chu can." He shook his head slowly with the simple roll of his shoulders. "Well.. dat part 'bout me goin' from one lady to another, yeh, dat is true. I will openly admit it. I 'appen to like a variety, dat's just me. Doesn't mean I will always be like dat." He did not want to hurt Rogue's feelings. It could also be he was afraid to get close to certain people for fear of harming them in the long run. He wasn't completely sure how to answer her question the way she'd like to hear it.
