My name is Artemis Fowl II.

I am, for lack of a better word, a child genius.

Or I was...back when I was a child.

Like all good men before me, I have started that awkward change into adulthood. And as much as I despise puberty, it has yielded unto me some otherwise...undiscovered benefits.

Butler, the man beside me, is my bodyguard. Thanks to modern science and farie technology, he's back to his usual, grumpy, and young, self. It's like his several near-death experiences never happened.

I recently have been diagnosed with what the People call the 'Atlantis Complex'. It has resulted in some psycholigcal damage to both my psyche and reputation. I'm currently undergoing treatment, though it seems that my adversion to the number four will haunt me for the rest of my life. It's not my fault that it sounds like the chinese word for death. Five, on the other hand, is a perfectly logical number. Things that are related to the number five will never fail you.

-cough- Forgive me. I seem to be having a little moment. It is difficult to control these urges. Paranoia, OCD, and of course...him.

I suffered a personality split, resulting in the formation of an alter ego who simply calls himself 'Orion Fowl'. Naturally, it must allude to the fact that in legend, Artemis and Orion were natural enemies. Regardless, my alter ego is nothing like myself. In fact, it almost upsets me to know we share a body.

Orion is kind, gentle, and will believe anything he is told at the drop of a hat. I've warned Butler to keep a very close eye on him, whenever he emerges. He's quite keen as of late though, to learn the difference between what is real in my memories, and what is not reality. He tends to like fantasy though...much like the child I've longed to be in my weak moments.

If you wish to correspond with him, you'll have to do so here. I refuse to let him occupy my body while I am concious.

I have moved on, once again drawn into a portal that has plopped me right in the middle of the oddest place. This time...it's a rather strange place... The world is called Gaia...What a strange and interesting place this is. Thankfully I have found Butler, and have come to learn that in this new world, I'm merely the focal character of a fictional story. My exploits are known to the people in this world, yet they do not believe that I am the real thing.

I think its best that things continue on in this manner, at least until I return home.
