As you know, I used to be in an orphanage called Wammy's House. And all the kids there had one and only goal: to surpass L and takes his place as the next L. No one there was really cualifed for that position, except me and a kid named Near and my best friend , Matt. But here was the problem, Near was always better than me, AT EVERYTHING!
Now that L's died trying to solve the 'Kira Case', I've got to solve this case and be the next L. But I know that somewhere, Near's trying to do the same. I've got to try my hardest to beat Near to the title, or else all my efforts will be meaningless.
I will be number one.
