Well, your laptop isn't made of bread, it wont mold if you wait a month to get everything you need to pull information from the harddrive. XD

No, usually they let you start the computer, runs for between a few sec and minutes, then poof, it goes black. Either that or you get a pixel party right before the crash.

That's exactly what happened to my old Lenovo. The plastic hinges cracked and some of them made it into the fan. I was able to save it before the lack of fan caused any real damage, but it's always a gamble to use it now. Not sure if your can still save yours, but if you manage to get everything out that blocks the fan, then carefully press everything together again, it might be usable as long as you never move it or flip the screen. So long as nothing melted inside.

You will likely need to open up the case and plug something directly into the harddrive, but it's possible with the right equipment.
