My story . . .I worked as a Class A biotechnologist for the Shinra Electric Power Company under the direction of Grimoire Valentine. My thesis on Omega and Chaos had suffered much criticism and I was anxious to prove my collegues wrong. During one of our investigations we happened upon the suspected location of the dormant Omega. While there, we managed to extract an unknown specimen to return to the lab for further testing. Excited that I believed I now had solid proof, I hastened my experiments against Grimoire's advice. One day the specimen became dangerously unstable and broke free of its glass prision. At the last minute Grimoire pushed me out of its path and was fatally wounded. I was devastated by this and disappeared into solitude.
Vincent was assigned to monitor the project and guard us scientists much to my surprise given my history with his father. Even though Vincent soon fell in love with me, the guilt I felt over the death of his father refused me the chance to return his affection even after Vincent insisted he did not hold me responsible. I entered a relationship with Hojo, who — along with Professor Gast — used both my and their unborn child as the subject of the Jenova Projects first in vitro experiment. Vincent protested this but I maintained my stance on the issue. During pregnancy, I began receiving visions of the horrors my unborn son would commit, and in an untimely encounter, I discovered Vincent shot by Hojo. Fearing for his life, I exposed him to the stagnated mako which had been named "G Substance," causing the being known as Chaos to be absorbed into his body. Though his life was saved, he was left in a feral madness. His anger in this form could only be controlled by the ancient materia called the Protomateria. Disgusted with all that I had done to those I cared about and the changes Jenova's cells had wrought in my own body, I attempted to kill herself. However, I was unable to easily die because of the presence of Jenova's cells in my body, and, thus, I isolated myself in a cave located in a remote location.
Later I was discovered by Vincent and the party he traveled with, before I willingly encased myself in a large mako crystal after asking if Sephiroth had died yet. Vincent told me he had died.
