It's not happened in my lifetime as far as I'm aware, we have powercuts sure, but usually because of storms not because the power company turns it off. We have a log burner, so we'll be ok for heat. Cooking is more of a worry as most of it is electric... so not sure what the answer is. Might have to get a little camping cooker rofl It's nuts how much ours have gone up in the past year already and we're expecting another price hike in October gonk literal insanity. That's why I don't discount them cutting it off in the rural areas, despite the fact that we'll probably be harder hit by it AND it will affect food production in a way life milk as the dairy farmers won't be able to milk the cows. I can imagine that was a fair shock to them as well!

Lol, well it was named that due to the fact that banks standardly close for them rofl guessing other industries less so, but it is generak for most non retail and hospitality sectors close anyways. Aww well you managed it so you did better than you were making it out to be, also it's your first time so it's gonna be tricky but the more you do it the easier it will get and you'll be able to tweak it as you're going along. At least it was over sooner rather than later 3nodding better than it lasting longer than you think! No literature?!? your place is full of monsters, I could understand putting a limit like not more than ##% but none?! EVIL!!! What's their beef with literature? Well at least knowing where you were going was one less thing to worry about and if anything the dash to get there will have stopped you over thinkin the class before you walked in! Aww sweetie! How many classes will be in there a week? Apart from all of that how did it go?

As a full time job, a month shy of 12 years so a fair while, including part time at school, 18 years. So a while! My mum's passed down a few reipes, but they're more for sweet treats like a boozy rocky road-esque thing. I have a fair few recipe books though and I've learnt over the years through trial and error and just an interest in food, flavours that work together... there are some that I hear work I haven't been adventurous enough to try, like strawberries and balsamic vinegar, or chillis and chocolate confused I'm not convinced on those. Nope, we don't really have many areas that are that remote in the UK. There;s the moor but even those aren't that vast. Probably mainly the Scottish Highlands would where you would get the most remote places. Lol not sure that;s the most efficient use of their time, also police cuts have been rife in rural areas, the small towns round us used to have their own police stations now I think there's one between the 3 of them. It is a nice trail... here's a pic of the station that is now a house, you can't really see it now they have done it up but...

Oh well thats better for you I'm sure. Well we'll see waht they do in the winter, at the moment it's just threats of it. It could well be cities hit as easier to drop usage greatly, but as I say they might do rural areas as we have less of a voice. Glad to hear you've not been affected by it. To be honest with the profits the energy companies are making from us it just doesn't seem right. But we will have to see what happens.

Lol well it's only the 2 of us, and usually if we have a work meal we're going out so not really an issue.

Lol ours is just August/Summer Bank Holiday I think... nothing fancy for us xd It sounds like it has slightly. You will be rady, I have faith in you! That's always a bonus! Gives you something to look forward to. Well there will always be more pressure if it's one being used, what are the weird paarameters that they have implemented? Have you made it in?

Lol I do have the bonus or working in the food industry, living with chefs and my mum started us cooking early on so we got experience and I'm not afraid to experiment with flavours as I've learnt what work. Oh yeah, it's just in the dale, so you see them dotted about as you walk through it. Would be kinda hard to cut it off. You just can't pick them, which being local I know... there are probably some tourists who wouldn't realise that, but I dunno if it's something that happens and if they did how they would police it? Kinda sad that they have had to close the islands to the public, but I suppose it's good because it protects the wildlife. The stations have been repurposed, as it's the countryside there isn't really any graffiti that I've seen, one is just been repurposed in to houses, but others are cafes and bike hires. As it's along the old railway line that makes the trail so you pass all the old stations 3nodding

Oh no! Sounds like the weather is out to torture you!Awww I'm so jealous!!! I want a storm!!!! Usually that would feel hot in the UK but after the hot temps earlier this summer it doesn't feel all that hot. I think because of all the fuel shortages due to the war in the Ukraine... will have to wait and see what happens. It may be more in the cities, but I can also see the rural areas being targetted because it's less people affected confused so will just have to wait and see what happens.

Lol exactly! Seriously so many of our conversations at work are about food, one of the girls has VERY similar tastes to me xd we agree about most foods xd well if you're keeping it in the fridge it's more likely to be stale than it would be to go moldy out of the fridge 3nodding

So you have it the week after us, first monday in September? Has organising it out helped you sort it out in your head at all? I feel like that should at least give you a structure to work to. Well if it''s even slightly coming together it's progress, and as you settle into it it will all come together, also I'm guessing this is your first time arranging a syllabus, so it's likely it will get easier over time, Did you manage to get into town today?

It was nice, James made it so I think he got some parts of the recipe wrong as it didn't taste that similar to when I made it... I also feel like there was too much rice confused I dunno... it was nice just not as flavourful. yup, SSSI means Site of Special Scientific Interest, it's usually because of it containing rare flora or fauna, it's also why it is unllikely they would ever reopen it as a railway line again, I know they have rare orchids down in the dale, not sure what else there is but guessing there are a few different species, probably of fauna there. The tunnels do go somewhere as it's part of the former railway line that ran from Matlock to Manchesster? I think it was something like that, I just don't know the exact route, you do pass old stations on your way down it, recognisable by the old platforms to the side of the trail. I dunno when they will be reopened...I think it's just in the proposal stage at the moment so at least several years before it happens I'd guess.

Oooh that sounds like a nice time. We're about 70 the past couple of days... it's nice when the suns out but kinda chilly in the shade confused I'm glad of the long weekend... I definitely feel ready for it! They're talking about the possibility of them during the winter... so it's something we may have to deal with this year confused Yeah with the hotter weather and less rain it's not a surprise really. Hopefully the recent rains will help the water level but wee'll just have to wait and see... as I don't have a garden it doesn't affect me that much.

Sounds like you're starting a list of things to do in the UK... starting with food is definitely the best way to start xd You;ll have to let her know that it'll last longer out of it. If the bread/cake is liable to go moldy before you eat it, you can always freeze bits 3nodding

Awww sweetie, is there any chance of getting a break sometime soon? Well a little is better than not at all. Perhap the rearranging will help things slot into place more, how you feeling about it all today? Have you made any progress today? What about your committee for your major? Yeah it's not something we overly see over here... I'm sure there are some... somewhere but I've never seen one that I can remember confused

It wasn't that spicy to be fair... but I had to get creative with some parts of it... but it is nice to make your own spice mixes... you can literally google them to see what herbs and spices you need to put in. I dunno for definite but I expect they will be for historical purposes... also may be because it goes through a SSSI area? Erm I'm not sure.. it might to small villages not sure if it'll reach another town as that would probably be a fair few tunnels for them to reopen confused will have to see what happens 3nodding

Well better cool and humid than hot and humid. It's been raining on and off over here but the bank holiday weekend is meant to be nice, so fingers crossed it is gonna brighten up tomorrow 3nodding We only get power outages if it knocks out a pylon or something so not often, it happened more often when I was younger but then again storms seemed more frequent than they do now... I could be remembering wrong though confused I think the recent rains will have given it a boost, but the local waterboard has implemented a hosepipe ban.

It's silly... coffee cake should taste like coffee!!! that might have a factor in it but it should still have a coffee-esque taste not cinnamon! Since ALWAYS! Cakes go stale when they dry out, putting it in the fridge, draws out moisture making it go stale quicker ... same goes for bread! Only cakes that should be kept in a fridge are those withe fresh cream 3nodding

That's why you should mentally disconnect from it for a bit. You're just stressing yourself out which won't help you working things out for the syllabus xd But then you feel guilty for not working on your major also... you're over thinking and stressing over the syllabus you NEED to breaks away from it. Did you get any helpful feedback from the meeting or help? Ahhh yeah... actually I did see something about how having your own washer isn't overly common over there... over here it's rare not to have your own washing machine (I read something about the differences between the UK and US from an American who had moved over here. But it was more the comment in relation to you were waiting for them so you could go in. You know it makes sense and it will give you a break without you losing momentum to work.

Not if it's just spices you sprinkle on them! I made a cajun spice mix tonight, it's just dried spices! The tunnels are probably also protected structure which comes with its own limitations for change :3nod; It's compacted from hundreds of thousands of people walking on it,,, it really isn't an issue to ride on. The fields you wouldn't take your bike on. The tunnels are fun, it is still relatively new the tunnels being open, they're looking at opening up another 1 or 2 and extending the trail further along the old railway line.

Yeah, flooding has mainly been an issue in the south of the country rather than in the north. Although the feels are turning green again now so ithe rain last night has done some good. I dunno, think Sheffield may have, but that just because my friend who lives there had a powercut. Yup, it's happening more and more, and because it is our own water supply it's something we are more aware of rather than it coming from a reservoir. Aww bless, that's good to hear, has it helped at all?

It sounds like a misnomer... it shouldn't be called coffee cake if it don't taste like coffee sad here's a clue... it tastes like.... *drum roll* COFFEE rofl mebbe with a lightly sweet cakey taste but the overriding taste is coffee xd cake goes stale quicker in a fridge as it dries out the cake, tins are handy!

No, but I'm not saying totally ditch it but you need to get a little space even if it is only a short time. Focus on something else. Just try focusing on something else like ya major? When has the meeting been rescheduled for... she doesn;t sound the most helpful thing. Why ya waiting for your folks to do laundry to head in? Task for tomorrow if you haven't emailed them, spend 30 mins AWAY from the syllabus and email people about your major! Oooh sounds interesting.

You could always buy some fries and sprinkle it on them xp It's seeeable but like late evening, when you can kinda see but not clearly at a distance and colours aren't necessarily distinguable at the mid points. Some were clearer than others. That would probably be a big job though as they'd need to rewire the tunnels... which with them being old is probably not the best thing to do. Lol too busy for bears even if we did have them rofl Nope, the trails aren't paved it's more compacted gravel, probably a 0-10mm grading..... I should not know this gonk the fields aren't really aimed for bikes but more walkers getting round to the next section.

Well that seems insane! How can you push it as a selling point but then not have any support for it.

I'm on a hill... I don't get flooded wink but yeah that is a good point. I spoke too soon though... still no sotrm but it's tipping it down outside... I'd forgotten how much I love the sound of rain on the roof xd Ouchy that's a lot of rain to be low on... I dunno what we were down by but I know the mine where they top up the water (we have our own water supply) was only a metre above the pumps so VERY low! It is definitely more bearable when it's less humid. Have you had storms today?

If it don't taste like coffee it aint coffee cake xp yup... we have a problem with sweet food rofl still munching our way through it at a guess.... although over a week later they won't be at their best now confused We know how to doa good cake bake xd

Even a day away from it might help you though. Sometimes you have to walk away to get some clarity... if that makes sense. Or mebbe an hour if you start to get stuck rather than stressing out over it and making the block worse. What aren't you looking forward to in specific about the class? Have you decided what day your heading in yet to check everything out? Have you started firing stuff off to other people yet? What's your major topic? can't remember if you said before?

I've not seen anything round here that does it, buy you can make your own garlic oil very easily by popping some garlic cloves and leaving to infuse. You can use any spices to season them though, you just find a combination you like and then sprinkle it over them. Yup, but because they old lights and small, high and infrequent it's still very gloomy inside them.... also probably doesn't help that it was a bright sunny day rofl Oooh that would be good.... but I'd need to learn hoe to set it up on my bike sweatdrop mebbe one to look at for in the next couple of months with the days getting shorter confused I do like the tunnels, aand the other paths are ok for walking but they're across fields so wouldn't be as good on a bike 3nodding


That's really bad that they dangle it but then don't let people actually train in it. You need to make some time for you to get away from it all... go for a walk mebbe confused

It was a good night, it was good to catch up with people. Lol it was more luck that my older brother was trying to make up for forgetting to take them rofl and didn't actually forget either... although I was messaging about it ON the actual day... but he is ridiculously laid back and forgetful. As my parent's always put it, if he was any more laid back he;d be horizontal rofl

But thunderstorms are pretty to watch! Nature is AWESOME! But yeah good to avoid the flooding although we still need more rain, everything is still parched round here. To be fair when it's been so hot, what you think of as warm before suddenly feels cold, like here, high teens feel COLD!!! Ouchy seems like you guys have no respite from the high temps. Lol well we like the none crazies so you'd be welcome over here!

I said more positive, mebbe I should have said less negative. Mebbe you need to take a break from it to work on other stuff and that will help you subconsciously figure it out, but sometime a little distance iwll help when you've been spending so much time on it. I believe you can do it! Have a little faith! Have you reached out to anyone about your major yet?

It's a garlic oil, so an oil that has garlic cloves in it to flavour it, so the fries are tossed in that... sooooo good! Salt and mebbe some spices thrown in... I wouldn't know, do they have an interesting flavour? There are lights but they're like tunnel lights... like when you go through a tunnel it's dark but you can see there is a little light? if that makes sense. It is nice I just wish I'd got a light on my bike so I could see better. It is a good trail, very popular, it's one I've been walking since I was little but they opened up all the tunnels a few years ago, so you could walk/cycle without having to go off the trail and round through the fields etc. It's not the one we've always taken on bike rides, but it was a nice change, but it's a trail I've grown up with as it was the area I grew up in.

Have you received any feedback yet? Aww I suppose that makes sense, and it sounds like a it's a universal line they use to tempt people in if your old colleague had the same line elsewhere. Take some time to destress that will probably help you figure stuff out and it would be good not to be too stressed before you get back into it and have more stress on top.

It wasn't as big as I thought it would be, it was just a group of us hanging out listening to music and foodand drinks. I was driving so just had some soft drinks but it was great to catch up with everyone. And I got lots of compliments on my new do xd Yeah I was waiting till I heard it was all ok before setting off as they were due back about 7:15 and so we left for the party about half past once I knew my older bro was en route.

the second page in the thread starts showing all the different colour schemes... there are many, some use the same or similar colours so you can use a mix 3nodding

We had rain Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, where I am and that was it... no thunderstorm like it said! Down south had storms and flooding but we had barely anything really. Aww bless ya, why are your folks closing the windows again? Seems like you'd enjoy the UK climate rofl Yeah definitely not as long as you had the high temps for a few days and then it breaks! How far away is not far? Should I be worried? Yeah just miss every like 20th one and get the more expensive option xd

If ya not a fan of coffee it still tastes coffee-ish... I did find a slice in the fridge in the other office... but I'm not that bothered about coffee cake and a week in the fridge... it'll be drier than the sahara desert! There is still loads of cake left mebbe enough for another week rofl the office is full of cake fiends so mebbe not last much longer xd

Eh next week's not looking likely either... no afternoon appointments... guessing with it being a bank holiday weekend coming up... so the week after hopefully.

They were delish, I preferred the garlic oil ones... but I love garlic so that might explain it xd Nope not the best idea, hence why I'd wanted to start earlier to avoid it. The tunnels are not overly long, but they're old railway tunnels so it is darkish, even though they have lights its still dim! I don't think we had anywhere near what you had... and I didn't even get a thunderstorm crying I wanted some lightening and thunder to look at! It's broken now... so today was about 17 so low 60s in your speak... it felt sooooo cold sad Eh we weren't quite that bad... but it was defintely uncomfortable, as I said it was like hanging the washing out on the line and being drenched in the space of 10 minutes. Awww bless, well hopefully you get to avoid the smoke for a while. Hows the weather there at the moment? Is it starting to cool off at all for you? So not that much more expensicve for you 3nodding at that cost, you're not that much worse off having that one instead of the syrup one... and it's probably better for you 3nodding

It was just that I ate too much cake... felt bad today though when the guy from the top office asked if I'd tried his... which was coffee cake and I'm not that bothered about coffee ... so I'd skipped it. I had a few different ones... and we're still working out way through it all rofl the spread was insane... I did see a pic on linkedin... I'll have to hunt it out and then I can show you just some of the feast of cake we had rofl

It's not looking likely to be this week... guess it'll have to be next week.

Is there anyone you can speak to that could help with all that, or have you got another meeting that could help with that? I'm going to remind you of that statement when you're moaning about the cold xd you're gonna hate me and my brain when that happens xd

The fries are yum... although I miss the truffle oil or the garlic oil ones they used to do... they were delish! I wish the heat would mess my appetite up more rofl but the ride was fun though... and going throught the tunnel was nice and cooling... although it was dark and hard to see when people were going to get in the way stare cause people are eejits!

I think you needed to take a break from worky reading though... just try and mebbe do one night of worky reading to get ready? When are you due to get feedback through on your last draft? DH stuff? what's that? Still not feeling the school, is it possible to look at transferring, or would that be more of a headache?

Weeks going well so far... but I'm glad it's over half way to the weekend now xd not that I'm wishing my life away ninja

Yup, lot more humid sad Exactly, dry heat allows you too cool down more, humid heat just makes you all sticky confused 5-10 minutes outside hanging out washing was enough to make me all hot and sticky earlier confused So far there have been on fires in my area and they managed to get the other one under crontrol fairly quickly. Yup they keep arning of it, not sure if my area has officially announced one yet, but we are due rain and thunderstorm over the next few days so we will see. What's malted do to it? Yeah seems a bit pricey but mebbe then having it as a treat will make it more special. Yours seems a lot more complicated than ours tends to be for just the everyday working person. Lol yes, looks like white but slightly less white, but not as off white as cream rofl Don't think yours are any of the new colour schemes. neon pink I would guess for the ears and mask. If you scroll down the first page it lists the shades, peach or sakura may work for the ribbon. Hard to tell without equipping and comparing.

Lol well we're creeping up, now 80-90 is prob considered heatwave weather now. Definitely, and we're not prepared for it. They have heat warning out at the moment and as much as it should be common sense they have to keep reminding people not to use disposable bbqs and have fires out in the countryside emotion_facepalm 50 houses had to be evactuated from a village bout 30 miles away from me because of a wildfire... I think if you have more sensitive skin you can be more prone to chemical burns or allergic reactions to the chemicals in it... but yeah it just gives you a burning feeling I think if you react badly to it.

You might be surprised, often hidden in other items you can get a white you forgot about 3nodding I find that from time to time... You could also try ivory? It's not as scary as you think. Click on the colour scheme and it usually takes you to a thread that breaks down the shades of colour used. Liiiike the green in Blooming is Pistachio Green, and the pink is petal pink 3nodding

But it's not normal for the UK mid 70s used to be hot for the UK, actually is still is but our new highs are now higher. Today's been about 90, as was yesterday and tomorrows meant to be the same... but each day the hottest temp has been hotter than forecast the past few days... so we will have to see. Ouchy I'm surprised you haven't melted? No, it doesn't but it allows you to be more prepared and a safer driver but also allow you to see potential dangers. Mebbe... althought at a glance it looks like just a random hole in the knee... search "white boots" in your inventory and see what you go mebbe? Also its more fun to match items not from the same item xd Lol it works if you know the colour/colour scheme. I usually search the marketplace to check tags if I'm not sure what colours it uses.

A few weeks ago is recent though... and as I say the article could have popped up after it was released 3nodding we're about 80-85 at the moment. It's a thing where people see articles on their phone but don't check the date... I've seen articles pop up years later from like 2016 and people are like look it's due to snow emotion_facepalm it's like no the article is YEARS old!!! It feels amazing! Although I think I'm gonna have to invest in some straighteners to keep it from doing it's own crazy thing stare Actually I've not done that... I think because it ends just above my shoulders it's a bit harder to mess that bit up rofl I keep fiddling with it when it's in a ponytail though and twirling it round rofl Just need to book an appointment, but I ended up working an hour overtime today so I shoudl be able to get it dyed sooner rather than later by taking that hour back so I can finish earlier. Yup all hair dyes can cause a reaction so you have to do a patch test or should I say you're meant to do a patch test each time... I actually haven't ever before... but I've been lucky 3nodding but as they are a salon they make you take a patch test.

When you thinking then Thurs/Fri if it's not cooling down till then? We're heating up again xd so got some sunny days coming up... unfortunately I will be at work confused but still... it shold be nice Sat as well. Lol definitely the answer! Hmm... mebbe it's the knee parts, or the fact that they're silver not white like the rest of your items? It's when you're mixing silver from before the colour schemes and with colour schemes that you have problems. But I'm subscribed to a colour scheme thread which breaks down the different shades used in them, so will show you what kinda of silver they use. It's like gold they have like vintage gold which is a different shade to other golds 3nodding

They might charge extra for it being a more hazardous area, that or they'll want to go round it. I'm going to guess it was an old article you saw, from when we had the crazy temps in the middle of July. Some people just aren;t bothered I guess... my little bros the same not bothered about learning... but once I got my license and car it was a whole new world of freedom, anot not having to make plans around public transport was a dream! Well with all the rain the roads are wet so when temps drop to freezing... it just become ice. Not that we have freezing rain though 3nodding or not that I have heard of. Going darkish brown with a hint of purple xd showed her colour I want.

It's likely not a straight line rofl also might be worse waters to travel. Todays been warm and we're warming up again... but not to your levels of insanity admittedly. Yeah you can't really comment when you don't drive rofl mebbe they're trying to force your hand eek parents are sneaky! Definitely, and because we don't really get much snow, it's not like it's worth getting snow tyres for your car. You even notice a difference between north and south, we had a dusting last year and I mean dusting... not even a cm and my boss who lives near London was panicking rofl I enjoy a walk in the snow, hearing the snow crunch underfoot... black Ice or just ice in general isn't fun, I've had many a time dicing with ice, don;t need snow for that horror... sometimes in winter I walk to work down the road as at least that gets gritted 3nodding So we're doing £5 for the afternoon tea and any cakes left at the end of the day will be sold . Lol that's why I told you the capacity xp
