Heavens angel
The neighbors say she ran last night
Packed her bags and left
No one knows where she went
Or if she will be back
The crashing and the yelling
Woke up the silent street
As husbands looked at wives
Wondering who was beat
Suddenly all went silent
With the slamming of the door
Not a word was spoken
As the neighbors watched in awe
None had ever expected
To see what they just saw
Faith had been running low
With the start of the Great War
For there she stood all in white
As she spread her wings to fly
An angel fallen from heaven
Tears glistening in her eyes
To fall down her cheeks
And land at her feet
To stain the concrete red
As she took one last look
Up and down the empty street
To disappear into the night
