Four years ago, I was taken in by Kaien Cross as the sole survivor of a murderous attack on my family by Shizuka Hio. I was bitten during the attack and spent the last four years resisting turning into a vampire — the tattooed symbol on my neck helped suppress the vampire transformation. Due to the attack, I developed a deep hatred and distrust of vampires. I kept my vampire secret even from Yuuki until bloodlust overwhelmed me and I bit her. Filled with self-loathing, I attempted to run away but was stopped by Yuuki, who pledges to kill me should I fall to level E. To further ensure my vampire nature remains controlled, the headmaster provides Yuuki with a bracelet that reacts with my tattoo and paralyzes me. Despite these measures, my body rejects the blood tablets used to sate a vampire's thirst and Yuuki convinced me to continue drinking her blood
