It's the technique I'm currently using at the moment and it's certainly helping me! (JUST LOOK AT MY OLD ART. OH GOD.)

Anyway, you'll get the hang of it in the end! Just draw your characters the way you feel comfortable drawing them while still incorporating the parts of Xamag-Chan's style that you love the most. (eg. the noses, eyes, colouring, etc.)
