Tousen Kaname is the blind but skilled Captain of the 9th Division. It is unknown whether he was born blind, or if he became blind at some point, all we know is that he's blind. Tousen is very good friends with Komamura, and is also one of the most mature and responsible Captains, ranking it in with Hitsugaya. Tousen believes in justice no matter what, and despises fighting and bloodshed. Due to this reason, he doesn't hate Zaraki, but believes he is an enemy of his because he defies everything that Tousen is, so more or less, Zaraki's assistance to Ichigo's group was a good excuse for Tousen to take out his justice on him. However, in the end, he was badly beaten by Zaraki. In a move that could never be possibly imagined, Tousen made his grand comeback out of nowhere teleporting Renji and Rukia back to the execution ground to Aizen and Ichimaru, so that Aizen may extract Urahara's abomination from her. Needless to say, it was then revealed that Tousen was in on with Aizen's little group, and also needless to say, Komamura was both furious and deeply hurt by his best friend's betrayal.
