About
I just came here from the Dragonfable site and this Gaia turned out to be a fun little addiction. I was under the impression that this was a game, but it turned out to be a forum with a wee bit extra. Still fun though.(2/16/0 cool Updated my profile. I felt like getting a bit long-winded, so here is a bit more about me.
More about me? Well, I've liked anime since around 1994 when I first saw Vampire Hunter D, probably longer when I learned more about what anime was. I've always been fascinated with cartoons, and I'll watch just about any that catch my interest. Lately I've been able to find many of the older cartoons that I loved as a kid, such as Hero High, Blackstar, and He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
I've been into comics for a long time and was a long time fan of Wolverine in those days. I've read more than a score of comics, but sadly many of them lay in their respective bags and boxes, awaiting my return. I've never read any manga, and don't know much about them apart from their being small enough to be sold from vending machines, and recently, I've learned that they're read backwards. What's up with that? Maybe I'll write a post on that.
I LOVE D&D novels. I have more than I've taken the time to read actually. I bought a boatload of them, it seems, back in 2003 on a Florida trip. I've taken a look at just about every novel from each D&D campaign, including Dark Sun and Spelljammer. I have my favorite characters, such as Raistlin Majere, Elminster Aumar, Wulfgar, Drizzt Do'Urden, and even Regdar from the smaller novels. Sadly, I've never played the game, and would love to experience that at least once.
I'm not totally limited to D&D novels though. I've followed Terry Pratchett's Discworld character of Granny Weatherwax for a good while. I've read the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and the Restaurant at the End of the Universe. Various Conan books by various authors, a Vampire trilogy by Jeanne Kalogridis, and a few others that pass my mind now. None of which should make me an elite reader or anything like that, but what I've read, I've enjoyed, at least.
(This avatar is based on a chat RPG I was part of, if anyone is curious. Was a vampire storyline so it was quite dark.)
