Duuuuuuude I'd show you some screenshots but I can't figure out how to take them. Prt Sc doesn't work for some reason.

I always thought Enderman was kinda cute, actually XD He didn't scare me when he first showed up, I was just like 'AWWWWW and who are YOU you skinny little cutie?!'

And then he teleported over to my igloo surrounded by water and drowned himself and I was super confused.

Definitely not. I think I'll just play minecraft all weekend and then pack in preparation for moving into my new house.

I generally only go into the forums if I feel like arguing, honestly xD

Oh, no, you're fine! There will be times when I won't be able to respond really fast, either (and I don't have phone, so I won't be able to warn you, haha).

Oh, by the way, I reread my last comment, and I think I came across really judgey toward France, so I just wanted to say that when it comes to Islamaphobia, America takes the cake. We are literally a country full of bigots. (And the video itself wasn't necessarily Islamaphobic, I just got the impression due to all the controversy about the hijab/burqa.)

First off, WOW, thank you so much for the list of tumblrs! So excited to start browsing through them, haha. xD

@ The Oppressed Majority: Damn. That was pretty hard hitting. It was a little bit uncomfortable when they got to the hijab part, though, since France is known for its Islamaphobia. But besides that, great video. And I'm so glad they had the comments disabled on it -- whoever uploaded it knew what they were doing, that's for sure.

@ ableism: From what I've heard, "stupid" should generally be avoided, too. I generally use words like "ignorant" and "nonsensical" and "silly" when people are lacking in common sense or are just refusing to see the obvious, haha.

@ Ferguson and others: Whenever I hear about Tamir Rice, I tear up and then I get really angry. Like, the police tried to claim that he pointed the gun at them and wouldn't put it down, but the security footage clearly shows them pulling up and before the car even comes to a complete stop, one of those assholes is already outside of the vehicle and Tamir is falling to the ground. And apparently when his older sister came running out to see what had happened and be with her little brother, they handcuffed her for being hysterical. It makes me sick. And then there's John Crawford III who was shot after he picked up an air-soft rifle off the shelf of a Walmart. Some guy called the cops and claimed he was pointing a gun at people (and he later admitted that he lied after video surveillance proved as much), and the police just rush in and shoot him while he is talking on the phone with the toy freaking gun pointed at the ground. And this happened in Ohio, too, which is an open carry state. So, white guys can wander through stores with real guns, but a black man with a toy get the cops called on him, and they execute him, no questions asked. It's so, so ******** up.

And then there are people like the a*****e who posted this thread who try to claim that it's really white people who are oppressed. Because apparently, "Christians are persecuted for their beliefs and cheered on by society, a stark contrast to anyone who utters a slander against islam. Compound that with someone happening to be born white and its just a double dose of societal hatred." He then went on to claim that the two (I think it was two?) cops who were killed after the murder of Michael Brown somehow proved that white people were hated and oppressed by society. (And the whole thread was created initially to complain about how homophobes such as himself and Rick Santorum have it so rough because liberal actors don't want to associate themselves with them.)

I also really hate every single person who has taken the #BlackLivesMatter tag and turned it into #AllLivesMatter. stare

@ Tumblr list: Haha, I hate Iggy, too. I think I'll like your tumblr just fine. xD

@ Fandoms: Oh, man, I like so much stuff. I'd probably say the fandom I pay the most attention to (at the moment, anyway) is Marvel. I love the Avengers (even though Joss Wedon annoys the crap out of me and kind of ******** up parts of the movie), particularly. I also love the series The Queen's Thief by Megan Whalen Turner, though I can never find much in the way of fandom it. emo

Also, Neil Degrasse Tyson/Bill Nye 2016 is definitely the way to go! I'd vote for them. xD

Wow, really? That's scary. And yeah, men are literally the worst. I also remember reading an article wherein police talked about how they react to rape victims, and they are basically dismissive of anyone who doesn't fit into their very limited notion of what constitutes as rape (violent with the victim actively screaming "no" over and over, and preferably with the perp being a stranger), and anyone who doesn't seem distraught enough to them. Because apparently people aren't really victims unless they're weeping and completely broken. :/

Seriously. We don't have time for that crap. talk2hand

Yep, yep. Ableism is a tough one for me, just because it's so freaking casual. Insults like "idiot" and "moron" are so common (and I know I slip up and say them sometimes), and the whole underlying mindset that people who aren't able bodied are somehow "broken," or the mindset that people are only valuable to society if they're intelligent/productive are things that are literally everywhere, and I was raised to think it, too. I'm constantly having to check myself on that sort of thing.

But speaking of racism, are you as angry about what went down in Ferguson as I am?

Haha, I really should do more with my account. But yeah, if you wanna send me links or usernames or whatever, that would be awesome. 3nodding

@ White guys being the victims: This is so true. I remember reading a post on Tumblr where someone said that she was the only girl in a criminal justice class, and every single boy in the class claimed that the person at fault in a case where a boy brought a gun to kill a girl who had repeatedly turned him down was the girl. For turning him down. The instructor tried to explain to them that though white boys are constantly trying to pass the blame onto someone else (with the help of our sexist, racist society), they are the only ones responsible for their actions, but these boys still felt like the girl in the situation had somehow "started it" by denying him, and that everything he did was simply a reaction to her rejection. (Which is why the entitlement of men in general is really creepy. Even when it appears to be harmless, it is the root of something terrifying.)

@ "Feminists don't agree": I know, right? But I think a big part of the problem is that women aren't really seen as individuals a lot of the time (because we're not seen as people in the same way white men are). It's like when guys complain about how women can never make up their minds, but then they reference the conflicting opinions of different women? It's like, "Dude, no. I might hate PDAs and she might like them, but that doesn't mean that we as individuals can't make up our minds." And of course that all feeds into rape culture, too.

@Women defending sexist men: It really boggles my mind, but I do try (usually) to be somewhat understanding since I guess we all do deal with at least some level of internalized misogyny. Some people just deal with more than others. That girl you're talking about was really obnoxious, though. I don't know if you read some of her later responses to people, but at some point she tried to claim that she actually hated men to try to excuse the fact that she was spending her time excusing the behavior of some guy. And even he seemed to think she was a brat. He ended up giving gifts to all the people he found open minded and/or helpful, and she didn't make the cut. xD

@Tumblr: I love that site. I don't really participate even though I have an account, but I will find a blog I like and then read everything they have ever blogged/reblogged. Tumblr is the reason I'm an intersectional feminist. Before learning some of the things I did, I used to ID as a radical feminist. The TERF version, to my eternal shame.

Man, I don't know why Gaia sometimes breaks my profile posts like that. But here's the rest of what I was saying after where it cut me off:

Quote:
...materialistic, and uncaring. He literally wants a girlfriend who will be selfless and take care of his need with no regard for her own, but he doesn't see the hypocrisy in the fact that he isn't willing to offer up that same selflessness to men who desire him.
Precisely. I don't like the whole self-victimizing, Nice Guy Syndrome, male entitlement.
It's really a plague in this society. And what's really sad is that people often don't even seem aware of it because the behavior is so normalized. When that guy went on a killing spree in California, his justification in his manifesto was typical Nice Guy rhetoric, but everyone was just like, "Wow, how strange. This guy was clearly unstable and not at all a reflection of our toxic society." But he was really the Nice Guy brought to its logical conclusion.

And then of course so many people insisted that the murders had nothing to do with sexism (even though he literally said he wanted to kill all the "blonde bitches" who wouldn't date him, and that instead he was just a "crazy" lone wolf.

Le sigh.
I didn't know Extended Discussion existed until yesterday actually :XD A lot of this is still pretty new to me. I love it though.
Haha, it is fun. I just had one too many people try to claim that feminism didn't make any sense because feminists disagree about things (because apparently women are supposed to be a hivemind) and that I should be an egalitarian instead because it isn't "fair" that we concentrate on the issue of the oppressed in a society that, ya know, caters to the oppressing class, haha.
And hell yeah you can :) Go for broke!
Is it sad that I'm super excited to have someone other than my sisters to rant to? Haha?

So, one of the most frustrating things for me in debates about feminism and male entitlement is when women are anti-feminist and defend male bad behavior (while condemning women as being collectively awful). So that's why I was kind of snippy with that girl ratgirl I responded to right after posting the general comment to Luc, and now I kind of regret it because she decided to use my overall tone (it would have to be the tone, because my content wasn't strange, even by anti-feminist standards) to write me off as a "crazy b***h."

Anyways, I don't know if she responded to me before Luc blocked you from the thread, but she is under the impression that the 50's model for white middle class families and the gender roles it spawned is traditional and held true for all women and has only recently changed, and her example of a silly thing feminists get overly angry about was that scientist who wore that awful shirt with the pinup ladies all over it? Because apparently the only thing feminists in the West should be worried about are injustices in the third world. (Even though there are plenty of feminists in third world countries who are already talking about and dealing with the issues there -- and Western feminists should really be calling attention to those women instead of talking over them.)

Also, I found it kind of funny that the solution she suggested in her first post to the OP was for him to date men. Like, (1) men tend to be worse than women when it comes to empathy due to the way society promotes male self-centeredness, and (2) if he were gay or bi, wouldn't he already be dating all those men who have been "throwing themselves" at him? Haha.

That reminds me, though. My sister was arguing with him, and he claimed the main reason he wanted a girlfriend was so he would have the security of knowing he would have someone to take care of him (which is understandable), and my sister pointed out that he had claimed he already had plenty of men offer to support him. He then said that he could accept their support because it was conditional on him being in a romantic relationship with the men in question, and he wasn't interested in dating men. And this really got to me because he is fine with rejecting people who interested in him (and would certainly be offended if anyone made huge assumptions about his character for that rejection), but he has decided that every woman who has ever rejected him has been self-centered, materialisti

Yeah, I usually stay out of the ED for that exact reason. (Also because of the racism.) The only reason I'm even posting in Luc's thread is because my sister saw it and got me to read it, and I had to say something (especially with the transmisogynistic things he said in the OP). And it's frustrating because on the one hand, I get that it's hard to be chronically ill and have all kinds of limitations put onto your life, so I sympathize with him in that respect, but he doesn't seem to get that that doesn't make him any less entitled in his insistence that women should date him or they're selfish and uncaring. (It kind of makes me wonder if he'd be cool with a woman who just wanted to be friends with him, or if he'd get angry when that friendship didn't become a romantic relationship.)

Anyways, I usually stick the M&R forum because mostly people just talk about religion, but sometimes that gets a little rocky, too, since some religions (or sects of the religions) have sexism built into their creeds, and the atheist community is overrun with misogynists. But, hey, can I take you up on that ranting about someone annoying thing, haha? xD

And thank you for the compliment about my avatar. c: Yours is cute, too!
