I was lucky enough that we had the official walk through back in the day so it definitely helped in getting all the characters.
I agree, I don't mind the loose ties to Trigger since the game play is so different.
Also sequels never tend to do well since you can't capture that same magic again. I'm glad they didn't try and decided to make a game in the same universe as Trigger instead. There are enough references that you can appreciate that they are related but I like that it's an entirely new story with wonderful characters on their own.
I only learned about the Radical Dreamers game because of this remaster release. Learning about their initial plans for Gil, I wish they would have tried to make that a reality. If they had limited their character base, they probably could have included him. Instead we got characters like Mojo and Turnip that don't really bring anything extra except for being a zany character to play with.
I grew up with Cross and played through it multiple times to get all the characters. It wasn't until I found Trigger for the PlayStation that I played that one.
When replaying them I started with Trigger and then replayed Cross and I was blow away at how many references to Trigger there was in that game that I hadn't known about. I still really liked the game but I found the story hard to follow without knowing what the heck all these times and events were that were mentioned.
I definitely have a whole new appreciation for it now.
I was happy to stumble across another Chrono fan! heart
I don't know if it was intentional but your avi also gave me a bit of magus vibes with the hair and ears.
Your avi is very, very cute! cat_3nodding I also wanted to say I really related to the post about roleplaying that you made in the ace thread. Hope you are having a good day/night whenever you receive this!
