About

Hello, fellow Gaians! I'm just a guy looking to have fun and talk to new people! Which is weird because off of the internet, I'm usually a bit more shy, and I keep to myself. But hey, breaking habits can be a good thing! If you'd like to talk to me or get to know me, feel free! I don't bite! Besides, I can't bite... I have an eyeball for a head. No mouth. No teeth.

[awkward]Just staring. Forever. Forever... and ever... staring.[/awkward]

I just realized how irrelevant this sounds now that I no longer have my avatar wearing an eyeball. Hmph.

Anyways... to aid you in your choice as to whether or not you'd like to get to know me, here are a few things I enjoy:

Music
I know, everyone says this. But I love just sitting around having good discussions about music. I come from a mostly hard rock background (Linkin Park, Creed, Hoobastank), so my tastes will generally gravitate towards music with a heavier feel. I didn't really start branching out until my first girlfriend introduced me to Mindless Self Indulgence. It was during this time I got really into mc chris, Nine Inch Nails, Screaming Mechanical Brain, PT Grimm, Dig by Mudvayne, a little bit of Marilyn Manson, Crossbreed, Static-X, Mushroomhead, Slipknot, and Korn, just to name a few. I'd eventually start listening to Lamb Of God, HED pe, AFI, Bobaflex, and Dir En Grey (and I started to really get into Avant Garde, like Mr. Bungle and Dog Fashion Disco). When I got into Dir En Grey, a total paradigm shift happened. I'll admit, I turned into the biggest weaboo ever when it came to Japanese music. I swore by it like nothing else was better, listening to bands like Maximum The Hormone, Abingdon Boys School, Moi Dix Mois, and others. Long story short, it lasted for a bit, I hit a rut and couldn't find more that I liked, and I moved on. Nowadays, I've branched out quite a lot more than I've stated here. This is just to give you an idea of my listening background.

I also make my own experimental electronic music under the name #C (Number C). You can find a link to my Facebook fanpage by clicking the picture in my signature. I work at my own specifically inconsistent pace, though, so don't expect a hefty amount of updates if you end up liking what you hear. In any case, if you do check #C out, then I thank you kindly.

Video Games
Another one everyone says! I was the kid holding off on going to the bathroom because I REALLY wanted to just chill out and play Spyro The goddamn Dragon instead. My gaming tastes are diverse, but not as diverse as my music tastes. I can have fun with a variety of games, but I won't buy them unless I know I'll really be into them. For a while, platformer games were my go-to games. I never really discovered the magic of role-playing games until around 2003 or 2004 when I played my first Final Fantasy. I started with FFX, and knew even then that this wasn't my favorite. I never cared for the themes or plot, albeit the gameplay was enjoyable (and still is). So naturally, I tried the three big PS1 FF games. FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX. Naturally, just like everyone else, FF7 stood out as my favorite, followed by FF9, and then FF8 as my least favorite. If you read my "Music" section, you'll realize FF7 kind of fit with my edgy alternative kid musical tastes, so it comes as no surprise. To further keep you from being surprised, Vincent was pretty much my favorite character. Ya know... the guy with an actually shitty past. Now, I still play Final Fantasy and other RPGs. But lately, my all-time favorite game has to be Borderlands 2. I've gone through ignorance, love, betrayal, hatred, lament, and blissful reunion with that game. So much so that I'll totally be picking up The Pre-Sequel (which is another game I've gone through multiple emotions with, and it isn't even out).
In my heart, I'm a PlayStation guy. Always have been. The games cater to me more. So, with that said, if you have PS3 and would like to add me to do some gaming, message me your PSN and I'll message back with mine.

Pathfinder
In case you happen to be unaware, Pathfinder is a tabletop RPG. For the most part, it's DnD 3.5e with balancing tweaks. Although whether or not it's balanced better is subjective. But that's not the point here. I love playing me some Pathfinder! I tend to enjoy melee-oriented classes more than magic, though bard is probably in my top three favorite classes. There's not much else I can say here without sounding like I'm speaking a different language, or like I'm a total dork.

Homebrew and Theorycrafting
So this kind of goes hand-in-hand with Pathfinder. I love making and fleshing out my own ideas to be used in already-released products. Whether it be a campaign idea or a new class for Pathfinder, or a new playable class in Borderlands 2. I love coming up with my own ideas and doing what I can to make them work within reasonable limitations. They have to fit within balance context. Currently, I'm working on a more melee-oriented class for Borderlands 2. One that attempts to fix problems that both Zer0 and Krieg had, but without making it stronger in burst damage than Zer0, or more tanky than Krieg. I'm also working on porting BL2 classes over into Pathfinder. For those, I definitely plan on seeing a stronger output than some core classes. Definitely intended for higher-power campaigns.

Film
I use the term "film" loosely. What I really mean is that I enjoy making visual content. I used to run my own Slenderman webseries on Youtube, but it stopped being mentally fulfilling to me, and therefore I've discontinued it. There were a slew of things wrong with it that could never be fixed. It started out as paying homage to the popular Marble Hornets series by attempting to push implicit joking commentary. Eventually, it grew to become more serious. But it was all canon, and so I had to make multiple retcons in order to force the comedy sections to make sense within context. The story was jumbled and thrown together, just as one might assume coming from comedic content. If you want to check out what I did release, message me and I can send you a link to the Youtube channel.

I also enjoy recording video game gameplay. Unfortunately, I don't have the correct resources in order to pursue this sort of thing the way I'd like to. Though, I'd be more than happy to be wingman or guest on other people's videos. Really, I just want to play video games with people.

I'll add more to this section as I come up with more s**t I like.
