frozen fresh cherries are fine, if thawed, and stewed. stewing your cherries, you need to add 3 tablespoons of sugar to your THAWED cherries. and half the juice of one lemon. add to a pot of 1 cup of boiling water. boil for 5 min. add 1 table spoon of cornstarch that has been mixed in a cup with 1 tablespoon of water, add to boiling cherries and stir frequently until thickened. turn of heat and add 1 teaspoon of almond extract to your thickened cherries and stir. and there's your stewed cherries.
regular soy milk is fine, but you'll need to add 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract. instead of 2.
