Because of you I’ll never be the same
Relics of the past drive me insane
Old memories haunt my every thought
Keeping the distant past close this isn’t the fate I sought
Early false futures close me off from reality
Now not able to see what could really be
Forever seeking the glue to piece this back together
Remembering a time that was better
I’m the one to blame for messing this up
Elements devoid now of trust
Never again could this be made right
Destiny is the winning opponent in this fight
Soon the last threads will fall apart
Hoping this won’t shatter my unstable heart
I’m all alone now again
Possibilities of better times have come to an end

I cannot stop them from staring
this paranoid monster daring
glaring into my conscience
I guess it doesn't matter anyway, opposing dauntless.
Can't turn around without facing opposition
transition into stiff muscles, stance chanced position
the condition of my heart went from open to closed
closed door closed mind, never happened before

I press on, move on, quicken my pace, just to face
another scared fumbling nut case, hearts race
to a place where we don't know which direction to turn
to the left to the right, who's first, what power we'll assume in return.
We both walk away,sideway, anyway,
to avoid the inevitable collision that may ensue if we stay
the course, today, no casualties here
but tomorrow is another battle, full of wandering fear
clear view of the exit beyond the crowd
loud people,clouded vision, rowdy teens, shrouded missions.

I cannot stop them from staring

glaring in to my conscience.
