[size=7][spoiler]A quasar is an extremely luminous active galactic nucleus (AGN). It is pronounced /ˈkweɪzɑːr/ KWAY-zar, and sometimes known as a quasi-stellar object, abbreviated QSO. This emission from a galaxy nucleus is powered by a supermassive black hole with a mass ranging from millions to tens of billions of solar masses, surrounded by a gaseous accretion disc. Gas in the disc falling towards the black hole heats up because of friction and releases energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation. The radiant energy of quasars is enormous; the most powerful quasars have luminosities thousands of times greater than that of a galaxy such as the Milky Way.[2][3] Usually, quasars are categorized as a subclass of the more general category of AGN. The redshifts of quasars are of cosmological origin.[4]
The term quasar originated as a contraction of "quasi-stellar [star-like] radio source"—because quasars were first identified during the 1950s as sources of radio-wave emission of unknown physical origin—and when identified in photographic images at visible wavelengths, they resembled faint, star-like points of light. High-resolution images of quasars, particularly from the Hubble Space Telescope, have demonstrated that quasars occur in the centers of galaxies, and that some host galaxies are strongly interacting or merging galaxies.[5] As with other categories of AGN, the observed properties of a quasar depend on many factors, including the mass of the black hole, the rate of gas accretion, the orientation of the accretion disc relative to the observer, the presence or absence of a jet, and the degree of obscuration by gas and dust within the host galaxy.
More than a million quasars have been found,[6] with the nearest known being about 600 million light-years away from Earth. The record for the most distant known quasar continues to change. In 2017, the quasar ULAS J1342+0928 was detected at redshift z = 7.54. Light observed from this 800-million-solar-mass quasar was emitted when the universe was only 690 million years old.[7][8][9] In 2020, the quasar Pōniuāʻena was detected from a time only 700 million years after the Big Bang, and with an estimated mass of 1.5 billion times the mass of the Sun.[10][11] In early 2021, the quasar J0313–1806, with a 1.6-billion-solar-mass black hole, was reported at z = 7.64, 670 million years after the Big Bang.[12]
Quasar discovery surveys have demonstrated that quasar activity was more common in the distant past; the peak epoch was approximately 10 billion years ago.[13] Concentrations of multiple, gravitationally attracted quasars are known as large quasar groups and constitute some of the largest known structures in the universe.
More than 750,414 quasars have been found (as of August 2020),[51] most from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. All observed quasar spectra have redshifts between 0.056 and 7.64 (as of 2021). Applying Hubble's law to these redshifts, it can be shown that they are between 600 million[52] and 29.36 billion light-years away (in terms of comoving distance). Because of the great distances to the farthest quasars and the finite velocity of light, they and their surrounding space appear as they existed in the very early universe.
The power of quasars originates from supermassive black holes that are believed to exist at the core of most galaxies. The Doppler shifts of stars near the cores of galaxies indicate that they are revolving around tremendous masses with very steep gravity gradients, suggesting black holes.
Although quasars appear faint when viewed from Earth, they are visible from extreme distances, being the most luminous objects in the known universe. The brightest quasar in the sky is 3C 273 in the constellation of Virgo. It has an average apparent magnitude of 12.8 (bright enough to be seen through a medium-size amateur telescope), but it has an absolute magnitude of −26.7.[53] From a distance of about 33 light-years, this object wo

Ohmygosh, I looked at your website and it looks REALLY awesome!! ^___^ I like the layout alot. It's pretty and easy to look at; not blindening, but not too dark, either. Did you make the cursor yourself?
I'm really in love with Daisy Dead Petals!! :hearts: Your graphic designing skills improved ALOT. How did you learn to make such pretty graphics so fast?

How are you in Special Ed. AND AP? o_o I've never heard of that. That's kinda odd, lol. =D My councilor said that if we DID have AP courses, I'd definately be in Honors English. So it makes me feel good about that. X3

It is just a high school. If you add up the elementary and the middle school it MAY be alittle over 450 or so, but that's it. Congrats on being a Bronze school! :3

Lol, I wish history fascinated me. It bores me so much. I'd much rather Math, honestly. XD At least it makes me think. History puts me to sleep. >_<

Awesome. I don't listen to Paramore so much. I only know 'That's What You Get' and 'CrushCrushCrush'.

I'm good, thank you. And why do you have only 5 classes? o___o I have 7!!

1. Biology II
2. Economics
3. Trigonometry
4. World History
5. Alg II (I made a C in the first semester, so I'm retaking it. >///< wink
6. English III
7. Environmental Science

I tried to take Pre-Calc, but they wouldn't let me. They said taking Trig and Pre-Calculus at the sametime would be too hard, and that I should take it next year. Makes me think that they think I'm stupid... xD
But hopefully my GPA will go up by retaking Alg. II... if I don't make a C again... xD
I've basically taken all of the courses required, so next year I can just retake any courses I don't like the grade of. I just need my Englishes and I'll be good! What about you?

Wow. You're good in science, then? I just got plain Satisfactory in Biology, which is passing, so I'm okay with it. At least I didn't about fail it, like I did History... >///<

My school is pretty much below average, lol. By like, 200. Well, we have ALITTLE ethnic diversity... But we have hardly any Asians or Pacific Islanders... I'm the only one, that I know of... XD And if we DO have any, they don't attend my school!! Your school must not be so "puny" if you have AP courses... or your school is smarter than mine. T__T It has to be one of those, lol.....

Then you better start working, woman!!! I'm working really hard this year, too. AP courses shouldn't be so bad for you, since that should be pretty much like an average class for average people.... right? XD

Well, right now, I don't have a "hard class". I consider any History courses as hard (except World), because I'm CLEARLY not so good in them... xD; I hate history so much, lol. What about you?

By the way, what are you going to college for? I mean, what career are you trying to pursue?

Jesus, I almost failed the History exam!! My score was just about on the borderline of Satisfactory and Limited Knowledge.... That just shows how bad I am in that area, even though it's supposed to be easy.... Congrats on your good History score and making me feel bad!! xD Lol, just kidding~

My school is SUPER small. There are NEVER any new faces!! Sometimes I wish I could move to a school (and town!!) with more ethnic diversity... and AP courses!! XD I'm sure you'll get caught up. You're smart. biggrin

Yeah, it does suck, but I'll be okay. Are you sick? Why did you miss a week of school?

I'm sorry. =( I hope you get better soon!

Um, school is okay, I guess. I got my end-of-instruction exam scores back this week, and I scored advanced in English! XD Yay me~ But my school doesn't have honor classes, so I'm not in any AP courses... How is school for you?

I'm not sure what songs are from which album. I use Rhapsody to buy my music, hehe. But I looove "Marry Me". That song is awesome, hehe. I also like "Juliet", "I Want My Innocence Back", and "Rapunzel". :3 What are your favorite songs by her? I want to listen to more of her good songs!!

Lol, yay! I'm glad you're also doing fine. =) So when do you go back to school?

Lol, Pinball is okay. :3 I haven't played it on Gaia yet, though, lol. ^^ I'm usually in the Jigsaws or Towns if I'm ever in the mood for games.

TSF/ME? WT? XD I'm guessing WT = Within Temptation? So then TSF = The Silent Force, and ME = Mother Earth? =D *I liked the Silent Force album <33* And lucky you! I wish I could go back on the 26th. >< I'm glad to be going back, because I'd be able to see my friends again, but then again... that means work, work, more work, and tests. =_='' I'm so not ready for that. Good luck to you, too!

That's good! *watches the pig fly by* o-o Hm. That's new. Good for you!! New compy. <3 I need a new computer, too. Almost 250 what? o.O What do you mean, lol? ^^;

Nothing new really happened to me, that I can remember, lol. x3;
