In addition, I do see what you mean as far as verbage.
I was using "skin play"/"race play" interchangeably as someone doing something to mockingly make themselves look like a race they're not, or try to (in this given example) reap the beauty attributes of Black people (skin) but not see how reprehensible it is.
I'm still not saying you did this, just to be clear. I appreciate your understanding.
I will admit that I didn't realize that "race play" is specifically a k!nk, albeit with similarly racist roots. Wild!

I understand the meaning behind your joke scenario, but I think the "n-word" phrasing/example was too far, and it made me uncomfortable.
I felt we had an understanding, and you mentioned that you grew up around Black people, so I wanted to give you the benefit of the doubt.
