I am a 45 yo grandmother (gosh darnit, I keep getting confused on how old I really am, I think senility is setting in, lol, cause I keep telling people I'm 46). I live with my daughter, her boyfriend, and my two grandchildren. My granddaughter will be 4 in December, and my grandson will be 2 in November.
When I first joined Gaia, I found the community to be so large, that I felt like a needle stuck in the center of a very large haystack. I decided I needed to do something to dig my way out, and discovered the The Newbie Supporting and Training Guild
, and promptly sent my request to join.
I was accepted much sooner than I had ever anticipated, and searched through all the wonderful help guides that were posted there. I really would recommend this guild if you are new to Gaia and want to learn how to navigate the site.
I also discovered The Bar, where those new to RP could test the waters, and it was there I met Jman05, -Cloud-Cole, and icekat2. Jman and I had a nice little RP thing going on in The Bar, until he got too busy in real life and informed me he would be gone for a good while.
He'd also invited me to join his guild, Nameless Wanders
, a new RP guild. It was here that I met eman78954, Tergan, and Princess-Ariel-Atlantis (whom I consider to be a good friend and I've really enjoyed RP'ing with a lot), and a few others.
The guild was pretty inactive for a while, the RP's had started off then died down almost right away, and it looked like the guild was going to flounder, but I stuck it out, doing my best to try and keep the guild alive, and now, it's finally begun to pick up again, and looks like it just may take off after all. If anyone is interested in RP and think's they would like to join, it would be nice to have more members. smile
It seemed at this point that it was nearly impossible to find a currently active RP, and I went in search of other RP guilds, and discovered A Secret Memory
. Now this guild also could use new members, and once again, if you like to RP, please check it out and if you're interested, submit your application. I've met some really cool RP'ers there as well, and I have a lot of fun with them. smile
Things seemed pretty quiet still, RP's were somewhat active, but not enough to keep me satisfied, so I went in further search of yet another RP guild. It was at this point I was beginning to consider leaving Gaia altogether.
I submitted my application to join The Literate Roleplaying Guild
and was accepted. Their rules for joining seemed quite stringent, but I could see that there was a lot of activity going on, and I knew I could meet their requirements with no problem.
However, within a few days after joining, I ended up in the hospital for a week, in which time I was diagnosed as having Atrial Fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat. My doctor informed me that my heart is beating too fast, and he put me on medication to try to regulate it.
Once I got out of the hospital, I decided to take it easy for a while, take care of my health first, then I would consider taking on some new RP's, once I felt comfortable doing so. Recently I have become involved in an RP in this guild, and I'm enjoying it very much.
The time for the annual Gaian member sponsored ball came around, and in discovering the thread where the ball was to take place, I also discovered the The Aged Gaians Guild
, where I've made a lot of wonderful friends and found an awesome support group. Upon discovering this guild, I found new purpose in Gaia and decided to stay after all.
If you're age 21 or up and think you might be interested in joining here, please feel free to submit your application. Although we're split off into little groups we call our 'families' within the guild, and I have two awesome sissy's, Freaksrus and Liz123456, I think of all of them as my online family! I wouldn't have it any other way. smile
