Yet a lot of bands you listen to seem to have emerged only in the late 60's or after. That's alright though.

I wasn't really a hippie, but I appreciated the bright, colourful, psychedelic style. It was beautiful, seriously.

See. Radio head and the Cure weren't around when i was a teenager. Pink Floyd was around and I may have heard their name tossed around once or twice, btu not enough for me to actually know the band and listen.

I see. I never listened to Pink Floyd much, even when I was a kid. I was a Jimi Hendrix/Led Zeppelin/The Who kind of person.

I have a strat, too, but I don't really use it much. They kind of feel like your generic everyday guitar that everybody and their grandmother uses. I hear it everywhere, and quite frankly, I think Jimi Hendrix was the only person who managed to make it stand out. Either that or the good ole' 60's had that strength and energy that most later music never had.

Sure, the Les Paul might also feel like a generic everyday guitar, but it's god a big fat juicy tone that's a good substitute for the PRS when you get sick of it, and it can really rock a piezo. I like it.

Fender had good hollowbody guitars back in the day. There was a nice late 60's guitar called the Fender Coronado, which you might not remember because you're not an old fart like me. It sounded nice, but it wasn't the sort of guitar for me to use in my work. I prefer the Gibson ES 335. It's the best hollowbody electric ever, no joke.

I'm more of aGibson/PRS person, I guess.

Indeed it is. I have a telecaster too somewhere in my studio. It is yellow.

The telecaster's got that nice tone that goes best into old southern-influenced music, but I'm able to get a nice sexy tone out of it without forcing it.

Seriously, the telecaster's gotta be one of my favourites. And I'm hardly a Fender person!
