I hide down the stairs
In the shadows of the dark
Mom screams
This all feels like a dream
Dad slams his fist into the wall
The entire house shakes
A glass in the corner falls….
Breaks
I’m hiding from life
Living a lie
Hurting inside
Pretending to be happy but inside wanting to die
Happiness comes and it goes
Acting like it’s a friend but really a foe
Why would anyone want to be me?
I rock back and forth
Make it stop, don’t make it worse
I take a knife and run it across my wrist
Just to get that feeling, that final moment of bliss
Why do you make it all go away?
I want to give up
Then I see you and I cut
One look of happiness is all I need
Make it stop, oh make it please
Hurt me now, stop protecting me
Release me from my binds and let me free
Dads touch hurts me more than he knows
God damnit let me go!
