How he came to be

~The Flirtatious Assassin~

User Image

Name: Zevran Arainai
Age: Unknown (Perhaps early 200's?)
Gender: Male
Race: Dalish Elf
Job: Assassin/Duelist/Shadow

Weapons
-Voice of Velvet: The elven assassin Corimae used this dagger to open the throat of a nobleman who refused to take her as a lover.
-Keening Blade: This blade makes a eerie wail, just on the edge of hearing, whenever it cuts the air. Twined runes are carved into its surface, hinting at the enchantments bound inside.

Armor
-Wade's Superior Dragonsking Armor Set:

Accessories
-Harvest Festival Ring: This wooden ring is etched with a simple vine-and-pumpkin motif.
-Dalish Promise Ring: Intended for a Dalish elf's betrothed, this enchanted silver band was blessed by the tribe's Keeper to ensure a long, healthy life.
-Ring of Ages: The shopkeeper claims this artifact may be among the oldest magic items in all of Thedas, from an era before even the elves mastered the magical arts. Quite likely that is mere salesmanship, but the ring is certainly powerful and feels truly ancient.
-The Spellward: Templars assigned to hunt the most dangerous apostates and blood mages treasured this amulet above all else. The circumstances through which it left Chantry control are better left unconsidered.
-Embri's Many Pockets: Embri of Gwaren, an elven mage of limited talent who volunteered to become one of the Tranquil, proved herself a talented enchanter--if absent-minded. She kept an array of magical ingredients on her belt at all times, and eventually the belt itself became magical. Embri died of lyrium poisoning many years later, but the enchanted belt remains.

Extras

Passive Abilities
-Combat Movement: The quick-stepping rogue can more easily outmaneuver opponents, granting a wider flanking angle that makes backstabs easier to achieve.
-Coup de Grace: When a target is incapacitated, the opportunistic rogue strikes where it hurts the most, inflicting automatic backstabs against stunned or paralyzed targets.
-Evasion: The rogue gains an almost preternatural ability to sense and avoid danger. This grants a one-in-five chance of evading a physical attack, including being stunned or knocked down.
-Lethality: The rogue has a keen eye for weak spots, and thus gains a bonus to critical chance for all attacks.
-Weak Points: The rogue seeks out enemies' weak points, striking each target in a manner that increases all damage no matter the source of the damage.
-Flicker: The rogue's deadly speed is unmatched. Within a targeted area, the rogue disappears in a blur, sprinting from target to target to backstab each of them.
-Dark Passage: Tapping the power of tainted blood makes the rogue more nimble, able to move more quickly while using Stealth and more likely to dodge a physical attack.
-Exploit Weakness: A keen eye and a killer instinct help the assassin exploit a target’s weak points. During a successful backstab attack, the assassin gains additional damage based on cunning.
-Lacerate: Whenever a backstab deals enough damage, the assassin’s foe is riddled with bleeding wounds that inflict additional damage for a short time.
-Feast of the Fallen: The assassin thrives on the moment of death. Stamina is partially restored whenever the assassin fells an opponent with a backstab.
-Keen Defense: The duelist has an uncanny knack for simply not being there when the enemy attacks, receiving a bonus to defense.
-Pinpoint Strike: The duelist has learned to strike the vitals of an enemy with pinpoint accuracy and from any angle.
-Shadow Form: The shadow flits in and out of concealment. Because enemies cannot concentrate on the character, each hit reduces their interest in the attacker. Start every combat in this form and it can only be disappated by bright light.
-Shadow Striking: The shadow has become more experience in ambush and deception, gaining a large bonus to backstab damage while in Shadow Form as well as a permanent bonus to melee critical chance.

Skills
Rogue
-Dirty Fighting: The rogue incapacitates a target, who takes no damage from the attack but is stunned for a short time.
-Feign Death: The rogue collapses at the enemies' feet, causing them to lose interest and seek other targets until the rogue gives up the ruse.
-Below the Belt: The rogue delivers a swift and unsportsmanlike kick to the target, dealing normal combat damage as well as imposing penalties to defense and movement speed.
-Heartseeker: The rogue strikes with great precision, attempting to fell weakened enemies in one last blow.

Assassin
-Mark of Death: The assassin marks a target, revealing weaknesses that others can exploit. All attacks against a marked target deal additional damage.

Duelist
-Upset Balance: The duelist executes a quick move that throws the opponent off balance, imposing penalties to movement speed and defense.

Shadow
-Decoy: The shadow is a master of misdirection, creating a personal decoy that keeps enemies occupied for a short time while the actual character escapes in stealth.
-Pandemonium: The shadow releases an airborne toxin that confuses all enemies within range, causing them to either flee or attack a random target, whether friend or foe.

Appearance: Zevran has long blonde hair combed back neatly with two braids intwined. He has hazel eyes often mistaken for a yellowish color, a tattoo by his right eye and tanned skin. By anyone's standards, Zevran is handsome. If its not his looks that woos someone's heart, its usually his accent.

Biography: Antiva is a nation in Thedas. Its capital is Antiva City, which lies on in the middle of its coastline. The line of Kings in Antiva has remained unbroken for two and a half thousand years. In truth, however, the nation is ruled by a collection of Merchant Princes such as heads of banks, trading companies, and vineyards. As Antiva is well-known to be good at everything but fighting, it is ironic that the world's deadliest assassins, the Crows of Antiva, originate here. No general would be mad enough to lead an attack on the Antivan borders, for while they would surely succeed due to the fact Antiva has no standing army, the general would likely be assassinated by the Crows.
The most efficient, most feared, and most expensive guild of assassins in the world calls Antiva their home, and their reputation alone defends the borders.

Antivans, particularly Zevran, speak with a strong Spanish accent. On the other hand, Antivan society is a fictionalized version of a medieval Italian city-state like Venice.

Zevran was the son of a Dalish elf who left her clan and moved to Antiva after falling in love with a wood cutter. After the wood cutter passed away, she worked as a prostitute to pay off his debts, until eventually dying in childbirth. Zevran was raised by the other whores until the age of seven, when he was sold to the Crows of Antiva. He attempted to resist their training, but eventually accepted and excelled in his position. Trained in both stealth and seduction, Zevran was one of the Crows' most promising assassins.

Zevran was the Crow contracted by Loghain to assassinate Alistair and The Warden. One failed attempt later, however, he found himself at the mercy of his would-be victims.

Zevran shows an affinity for the finer things in life -- hardly surprising for an Antivan Crow--but his appreciation can be more poetic than he lets on. An example is a simple bar of refined silver or gold, uncomplicated by a craftsman’s hammer.

The Crows send their regards!
