Hell Frozen Rain - Mary Elizabeth McGlynn

I am a twenty-two-year-old from California, though I now reside in a boring little town in Louisiana where nothing interesting happens. In my spare time, which I have a great deal of, I enjoy writing short stories and novels, reading, playing video games, target shooting, archery, hiking (when I'm in a suitable location) and general internet shenanigans.

I am a bit of a "gun nut", and although that is sometimes considered an insult I never thought of it as such. You know how there are car guys and computer nerds? Well "gun nut" is the general term for one interested in the mechanical inter-workings and art of firearms. We are also often interested in current and past military events and the equipment used in them from tanks to aircraft to field supplies.

My finished novels are "Heavy Storm" a rather trite and ridiculous thriller set in a New York City where it constantly rains. And "The Eighth Red Mark", a murder mystery. I also got my 50,000 word goal for NaNoWriMo 2010 which I named Carbon Fiber but haven't panned out the ending for yet. I'm not currently working on anything as my current idea is to read many novels to learn more of the craft while I plan in my head what I want to write next. Right now I'm thinking of a thriller featuring a female thief of small stature in the Seattle, Washington area.

My favorite video games are Super Mario RPG (the first one), the first and second Metroid Primes (the third was good, but not great) Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Wind Waker, Final Fantasy X, Resident Evil 4, all the Metal Gears, Killer7, Silent Hill 2 and 3, the recent masterpiece No More Heroes and its sequel, and Fallout 3 along with New Vegas, as well as Oblivion and Skyrim. Why didn't I just make that a list? Note to self: make this a detailed list when I'm more interested.

I also have a weakness for sweets, especially doughnuts, chocolate chip cookies, M&Ms, gummi things, and cheesecake. Fortunately I have youth and metabolism on my side so I pretty much don't gain any weight. I hope that when that starts to taper off I'll be living in a mountainous area where I'll get to enjoy hiking which will keep weight off. I also happen to be an occasional cigar or pipe smoker, but by occasionally, I really do mean it. Like, I own a pipe, and tobacco, and that's pretty much it. Honestly it sounds more fun than it is. I was just into Sherlock Holmes for a while. Still dig the stories, still dig the pipe, still barely use it.

I'm a "closet" nudist, which is to say I greatly enjoy the freedom of being naked but not really around other people, just whenever I can get away with it while alone. I don't think there's anything "wrong" or "shameful" about nudity in itself, and think the taboos surrounding it have little ground to stand on. But I could talk about that forever and I goes hand-in-hand with my stance for gun rights in that if a person is doing something they enjoy and not hurting anyone in it, bans and restriction on it because of other people being offended just by the sight or idea of it is not something we need to keep in a free society.

When I do wear clothing, I prefer suits, ties, slacks, etc. just because I like them. Even if I'm just going to Wal Mart, throwing on a tee shirt and jeans is something the younger me did, and the older me just doesn't seem to like the notion. Don't worry, the irony isn't lost on me that my two favorite methods of dress are: nothing, or a full suit even in Louisiana summers.

The gun pictured above is a Colt Python, one of the finest revolvers ever created and has taken on a near legendary status. It's one of my favorites, but honestly I couldn't pick it over the practicality of my Ruger GP-100. Not that that means I don't want one some day anyway.

And holy s**t I just updated this for the first time in three years, so what you're reading is actually up to date now! (7/7/13)

7/25/2022 Edit: Much bigger "holy s**t" this time: 9 years since I looked at this! Not as cringe as I would have expected but still kinda cringe. I'm getting fedora-wearer vibes here but to be fair: I did wear them back then. Nice ones, though, not ******** Wal Mart trilby hats. I'm still a nudist and I don't write much any more but I do digital art and have made a lot of progress since I started a few years ago. I'm also fairly buff as I've been working out for 7 years now. Anyway life is good and never give up. I'm keeping the old description for fun. Remember to love yourself and never doubt your worth.

Two scientists walk into a bar. The first asks for a glass of H20, the second asks for a glass of H20, too. Then he dies.

Yeah a whole lot of names could get confusing, but it's just 4 people I'm naming one of them (possibly you) will get bit, get really sick over the next few days, then die, reanimate, die again, then be out of the story just leaving 3 people with names and the unnamed narrator. I think the reader can keep up with that.
