About
Hi! I'm 30 (old lady!!
gonk lol) and I live near San Francisco in California, USA. I'm married to a lovely pasty white computer geek with a cute tummy.
heart
I am looking to meet new people, so please add me if you're nice.
biggrin I'm a huge introvert and so I'm really just looking for online friends for now.
ninja Feel free to scan through the below info to see if we have some stuff in common.

heart
main fandoms: harry potter, star trek
favorite tv shows of all time: south park, animaniacs
other tv shows i watch: raising hope, new girl, smash, jon stewart, modern family, cougar town, jimmy kimmel live, fake reality shows like kk krap (i refuse to spell out their names. anyways, that stuff fulfills my schadenfreude needs & distracts me from my problems, lol)
tv shows i used to watch: jay leno, oprah, lost, cougar town, grey's anatomy, desperate housewives, house, 30 rock, abc world news now, crappy reality shows like the bachelor... ok there's more but this is boring, lol
games/websites i play: tons of facebook apps
last book(s) i read: The Help, because my aunt gave it to me when all my other books were in storage because I had to move. It's well-written, but sooo depressing.
crying
latest favorite books: Keys to the Kingdom books were fun. Also Garth Nix's Abhorsen trilogy. Lirael is the best. I also really enjoyed the book Wicked. In March 2010, I was reading Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce. I don't like uber-heroines (see Heinlein) that much; I find Nix heroines to be much more realistic/believable, but Pierce's stuff is still interesting.
favorite non-game sites: wikipedia, youtube, howstuffworks
favorite comedians: george carlin, jim gaffigan
all-time favorite songs: "born this way" by lady gaga, "you gotta be" by des'ree, "hotel california" by the eagles, "building a mystery" by sarah mclachlan, "when i come around" by green day, "you learn" by alanis, "because you loved me" by celine dion
some musicians i like: alanis, kelly clarkson, lady gaga... i don't listen to music often. whatever's on the radio usually is fine with me.
music genres: adult contemporary, modern rock, classic rock, alternative rock. i'll listen to almost anything as long as it's not full of cusswords, sex, and/or violence (like some kinds of rap or metal), or repetitive high-pitched noises/beeps (like techno/trance)
favorite celebrities: alan rickman, tina fey, penn & teller, adam carolla, dr. drew pinsky, jimmy kimmel, steve carell, felicity huffman, william h. macy
female eye candy: salma hayek, eva longoria
male eye candy: hugh grant, liam neeson, alan rickman
sexiest voices: alan rickman, jeremy irons
favorite fictional characters: severus snape, samwise gamgee, Ben Linus
description of me: down-to-earth, honest, reasonably intelligent. huge introvert. highly-sensitive person (HSP). negative stuff: emotional, neurotic/negative, underconfident, anxious, sometimes depressed, easily irritated, and critical. (don't you wish everyone told you their faults right up front?)
looking for: anyone who is sweet, humble, helpful. lovely Life Issues people. fellow [social] anxiety sufferers or introverts with whom to commiserate. real human beings who feel real human emotions (and show it), who can humbly admit they don't know everything as they go through life's trials.
NOT looking for: trolls, bullies, homophobes, superficial people, people who try to push their beliefs onto everyone else (like certain quasi-militant vegans & certain religious people), people who take ultra-conservatives seriously (i'm talking about palin, bachmann, rush, mitt, newt, ron, all of those nutters. politics is such a freaking nightmare and screw this plutocracy, but those clowns are the worst. i do believe there can be decent human beings out there who are republican, so i'm not trying to rag on all of them.)
future career: teacher (elementary or maybe middle school)
reason(s) for chosen career: i truly believe that a career as a teacher is the best way for me to push myself to be the best person i can be. i am always always on my absolute best, bravest, kindest, most patient behavior to set a good example for the kids. the days i spend with kids can be physically tiring, but emotionally, i am energized, motivated, and my heart is full. nothing beats that feeling!
heart <-- ok, currently, i'm not doing that stuff, i graduated with a bachelor's but hit some more roadblocks. i did volunteer stuff for a while. i should probably get back to that stuff. but currently i am enjoying being lazy and doting on my wonderful husband. ;P
