A strange feeling

An empty feeling... Like you're holding the world at arm's length. All questions seem unanswered and hopeless. It seems you're not good enough? Emotions seem pointless. Yet you feel them as vividly as ever. It's like you're the only person in the universe. You wake up in the middle of night... dry eyed. Heart pounding. Confused. Where are you? Is this how you're house always lived? No. It's too cold. Too bare and lonely to be a place where you once sat with your friends and discussed the elections in Europe. So you get up... just to make sure. And you see the same paintings. The wall hangings. The furniture that doesn't seem so cozy anymore. The stain on the floor with a story that doesn't seem so funny anymore. It could be described as misery. But that's too... fake... isn't it? Everyone's miserable. But not you. What the hell happened? Now you're just like everyone else.

Perfection is portrayed in many forms. There's the erie Stepford Wives version, or the Place where everyone is well dressed and nothing changes. And in all the hollywood examples of perfection, there is one moral: nobody likes too much of a good thing. But, then again, Hollywood has their morals all screwed up. Because flawless is far from a good thing. Heaven is not a place with white walls and beautiful architecty. If we never made one mistake, never told one bad joke, never had any regrets, no bad grades, no embarrassing moments, what would be left? We'd be stuck in a whirlwind of nothingness. And, to conclude, perfection is not about being flawless, it's about having all the right flaws.
