Problems and Solutions
7th PC had a CMOS issue. Time would freeze in place every time the power was disconnected over a period of time. Solution: New CMOS battery, a regular CR2032 button battery.
The web server is currently running Windows 2000 Professional running Apache 2.2, MySQL 4.4/5.1, and PHP 4.4/5.3. PHP 5.3 support stops with v5.3.5 with the Visual Studio C++ v6 library. Visual Studio 9 (200 cool is limited with Windows 2000 and is missing a few important strings. Solution in the long run: Upgrade. Either to Windows XP SP3 or a lean Linux distro (distribution).
The Dell Optiplex GX1 we own is unstable. The USB ports on the motherboard need to be replaced.
The Dell Inspiron 8100 needs to be retired. That or become a webserver again, like the old-ish days.
Seriously, don't send HARD DRIVES in ENVELOPES. Trust me, they will not last the trip through the USPS. CDs in cases, however, are a different story.
