The Good, The Bad, and The Bewildered Otherwise
ugh...
hmmmm.....dear me......*kicks a rock*

........cobwebs.....*sneezes*......and dust everywhere.....I say...

*looks up* Oh! Hi there....I haven't been to this journal in ages, as you can tell. I haven't even been on Gaia in a while. i'll have to start posting in this more.....indeed.................I'll think of something...

So many questions...

I think it's time for some more of the "Bewildered Otherwise". You've been given "The Good", and "The Bad", so now it's time to chill out and be strange. I love it....

You know, I'm not sure how to start off a bewildered blog. It strange not just to you, my wonderful readers, but myself. hmmmmmmmmmm..........The holiday! Valentines day......It kind of sucks, so it gets discussed here first.

My sister and I were talking the other night, actually, about Valentine's day, and why it's so depressing. It's the only holiday where there are real winners and losers as a direct result of the holiday. If you have a significant other, and your still in the thick of your relaitonship, you've never been so happy to see the color pink, diamonds, and hearts in your life. Your on top of the ball, and you and your lover or girl/boyfriend have this one day to share each other.....just like every other day. A real winner, right?

Now, if you don't have any of these things, than you've never been so happy to vomit in your life. Your alone, and there is no party (usually) for people to come to, and they're too depressed to come anyways. Pink is annoying, diamonds are just stupid rocks, and the chocolates are far too sweet. Your being crushed by the ball, and you can't help but think that that special someone is off with someone else less (or in the worst case, more) worthy. A capital loser.

That is why this holiday is so depressing. You don't get presents, and you don't have fun. What's more, and this is to the guys, if you are in a relationship, your woman is going to expect so much from you on this one day. she might let you slack off all the other days of the year, but NO WAY are you gonna just dangle around on Valentine's day....no sir. ain't gonna' happen. So, if you do anything wrong, she'll most likely give you the hell the 360 some odd days of the year, wether she realizes it or not. It's a subconcious thing that women have, I guess, that releases a "vendictive" hormone throughout the entire body. I fear that I am ranting now, so I digress.

My point is, Valentines is the one day of the year where half of the worlds population can feel left out and broken. Who decided on Valentine's, anyways? What bloke came up with the brilliant idea to designate one day of the year to love someone to the best of your ability? If you think about it that way, it doesn't make sense, and women should be expected to be insulted that their men are only loving them so much because it's expected by the general public and herself. What I'm saying is, why today? Why not in a couple of months when it isn't so cold? Why not during a time of the year when people have more free time to plan things? Better yet, why not every day?

Of course, I've got my way of running the world, and the world has it's own way of running........

Okay, I've just finished reading an article on the history channel's web page. It's about the origins of valentines day, and after reading i must take back my comment about the creator of said holiday being a bloke. His cause was noble and respectable. Everyone else, however, than led an active role in shaping this annual disaster, is a downright git. I also think it's funny that, again, the catholic church of long ago buttered up a holiday based on roman and pagan traditions to make it more christian. Here's a link the the article for you to enjoy:

Alrighty, I think this is a good place to stop my blog of doom. I encourage you to comment on this blog, because I just love the attention wink .

Untill next time,

~Benjamin
