As I endured the Algebra lesson I began to wonder if I should tell my parents about the dreams I have been having lately since I wasn’t sure what would happen after everything was decided. Two worlds would be affected by the outcome either way. Suddenly I heard my Algebra Teacher calling my name to go up in front of the class and solve the problem he put on the blackboard. My teacher looked very annoyed at me that he caught me day dreaming during his class. “I’m sorry.” I found myself repeating those words again as I got up out of my seat and then I walked over to the blackboard to try and solve the problem. The thing about this particular class that was both good and bad is that the course is designed to be cumulative. That meant that the lessons built upon each other, so you would add a little something different to what you knew already to solve the problem. I finished a little over half of the problem before I became thoroughly confused. I asked if I could retrieve my book to help me solve the rest and my teacher nodded to me to signal for me to do so. I walked over to my desk to get my math book so that I could read over how to do the last few steps to get the answer. The rest of the problem was what my teacher was lecturing about today, so I could feel his frustration with me as I scanned the math book for the formula I needed. I spent about two minutes finishing up the problem and then I returned to my seat feeling embarrassed that my teacher made me go in front of everyone. Math was my worst subject, and I was sure that the whole class knew that by now. I was relieved when the bell finally rang to release the class to go to the last one of the day. I lingered in the class room a little bit as I gathered my things into my backpack then I lifted it up onto my shoulder before I started to walk towards the door.

As I made my way to the exit I saw a boy with blond hair fumbling for something in his backpack. “Didn’t he hear the bell ring? He will be late if he doesn’t get a move on soon.” I thought to myself then I walked over to him and said “It’s time to go to your last class. If you don’t hurry you will be late and get points off of your daily grade.” I said and then the boy looked up at me with hazel colored eyes. “I can’t find my schedule. I’m sure it’s in here somewhere. Do you know where the economics class room is? Wait a second your Mari right? The girl the teacher called up...that was quite mean of our instructor, but you know he did it to set an example so they others will pay attentions. Don’t take it too personally. I’m Barrett by the way. I’m pretty sure we talked a few times before, but I’m not sure if we ever properly introduced ourselves. I moved here with my family about six months ago to escape the frigid temperatures of Alaska. Our Husky Team was eating us out of house and home. Just kidding about the last part, but it is quiet expensive to live there.” Barrett said as he held his hand out to shake mine. I shook his hand briefly before I said “I’m Mari it’s nice to finally meet you after we had class together for six months you said? I wonder who truly ate more you or the dogs.” I said joking around with Barrett who just brushed off the comment before he asked me again how to get to the economics room. “Oh I have to go to the gym for swimming so I can take you there. It’s on the way sort of. We will have to walk fast though to make it on time.” I said signaling for Barrett to follow me. He grabbed his backpack and put it on before he followed after me. “Do you happen to know anyone named Baer by any chance? You remind me someone I know by that name. Maybe it’s a coincidence though.” I said while we walked. “Coincidence for two guys to have exact same eye color and facial features...not likely.” I thought to myself as I head Barrett answer me. “That is my name in the game I play. My character’s name is Baer and he uses all kinda of fancy spells to bring down enemies like that.” Barrett said snapping his fingers once for an added effect.

“Mirau is a game to him? No he must be saying that as a cover up in case some of the other students overhear us talking. In any case I found Baer now which made me question how the people I meet in Mirau happened to be people that were in the same classes as me with the exception of Kyle who I only had lunch with. Maybe the reason they appeared in Mirau because of me, but how would that be possible since I was pretty sure they arrived in Mirau before I did. Maybe it was because of them that I appeared there.” I thought to myself as I walked right past the Economics room and then I heard Barrett say “That room says Ms.Walker Economics 1301. I think that’s where I’m supposed to go. Thanks for showing me the way Mari. I’ll see you later.” I assured Barrett that it was no trouble at all before he went into the class room and then I quickly made my way over to the girl’s locker room of the gym. I arrived just in time as our coach began to take role to mark off who was present and was absent. For gym I was instructed, along with my classmates, to practice several different swimming styles including the breast stroke, butterfly, and speed laps across the short side of the pool and back to improve on our previous time. By the time I got out of gym class I was so exhausted I could barely move as I made my way to the locker room to change clothes so I could head home for the day. I met with my friends after school while I waited for my bus to arrive and then I passed out the remaining Mirau stones to them while I explained for them to keep it under their pillow so that they can enter Mirau to help us fight. After that I boarded my bus then I sat down in my usual seat towards the middle by the window. I stared out at the tress, cars, and buildings that rushed past me while the bus drove along.

“This very well could be my last trip on this bus if we failed at defeating the Akuen. If I died there would I just disappear or maybe I would become trapped in Mirau forever without a way to come back. As far as I knew I could come back and forth whenever I wanted, but that was because I had a connection in both worlds. My physical body is on Earth while my soul is sent to Mirau to take on a similar form as my body there. It was with my soul that I fought in Mirau, not my body so that made it even more dangerous. A body needs a soul to exist, but if that soul is permanently disconnected from the body or destroyed entirely, then the body becomes a lifeless empty shell. I did not want that to happen to myself or anyone else, so I planed to give everything I had into the fight ahead. If you give one hundred percent of your ability then there is no way you can lose right?” I thought to myself as a little self motivating talk before the school bus came to a stop in front of my house then I grabbed my backpack and walked up to the front of the bus. I thanked the driver like I did every day and then I went inside to sit down to dinner with my family. I ate my food slowly today enjoying all the flavors and textures of the meal my mother prepared while I joined into the conversation about how our day went once it was my turn to speak. We always started with my dad first, then my mom, then me, and last was my younger sister. Once I was finished my dinner I put my dishes in the dish waster before I said as I looked over to my family “I love all of you guys. I know we don’t always get along, and times can get rough. The important thing is we have each other to get through it all. That won’t ever change.” After that was said I headed up to my room and closed the door behind me. I placed my backpack on the floor by my computer desk before I changed into my pajamas. I then climbed into bed and pulled the blanket up to my chin as I thought to myself “Tonight Mirau will change forever. I won’t rest until the sun rises to a peaceful world without the Akuen.” I felt my body slowly giving into sleep even though it was a few hours before my regular bed time. My vigorous swimming lesson in gym helped ease the sleep process along as my senses slowly began to fade leaving me in completely silent darkness for a few minutes while three scenarios played in my head about the upcoming battle. The first of the scenarios was what I hoped for the most. We were able to seal all the Akuen members as planned and then defeat them, bringing peace back to the world once more. The second one began very much like the first, but not all of the seals were put into place properly so two of the Akuen escaped and attacked Baer and Karou with Dark Arcana killing them both. Leonardo and Mari became blinded by the loss and charged towards the Akuen while a tear stricken Claria tried desperately to revive Karou and Baer with her White Arcana. The last vision scared me most of all because in that one the seals failed completely leaving our team completely vulnerable to attack with little chance for retaliation. Mari didn’t want to consider that a possibility at all as she thought to herself “My friends are strong and we will win. I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but I will face it without fear. Tonight this long war will end, I just hope everyone is able to come and help.” Mari then pulled her blanket over her head as she closed her eyes tightly hoping sleep would come quickly. Her mind was exhausted from thinking about the upcoming fight all day so at this point she was ready to do what needed to be done.
